Any stoners out there into Jungle/Ragga/DnB?

Discussion in 'Music genres, Bands and Artists' started by paranormality, Oct 3, 2008.

  1. Most people say this music is associated with X, but it's great high energy music with lots of bass, along with cool reggae licks and lyrics if you're listened to the more jungle oriented stuff.

    Basically what it is is a lot of chopped up breakbeats combined with FAT basslines and sometimes ragga (jamaican rap/singing sort of thing). A lot of the beats come from chopping up an old drum break from a song called Amen Brother. One dude made and awesome video on youtube about how the Amen Break changed hip hop and electronic music forever:

    Forewarning, it's 18 minutes long.

    Anyways, just wondering if anyone else shares my passion for this slighty underground type of music. If so, let's share some favorite DJ's and/or YouTube vids of tight songs :D

    Peace :D

    Just found this thread. I'm a D n B fan. I like most types of jungle depends on my mood though.

    Spore is probably one of my favs along with Counterstrike and voodoosteamboat

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X53VIJTeH3Y"]YouTube- Voodoosteamboat - Slice 'n Dice (dubstep)[/ame]

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lg_keUzLip8"]YouTube- Spor - The Resistance (HD Visualization)[/ame]

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4zxtrxL-X4"]YouTube- Counterstrike - Maniac[/ame]

    Theres so much out there that I like but the list goes on. A few mentioned above...like Pendulum

  11. Into the production. Not a big DJ listener any more. Spinning records is cool, but too many people doing that now a days and you hear everyone spinning the same shit.
