any SINGLE bucket bubble system grows out there ...results

  1. thinking about making a single plant, single bubble bucket w/ no reservior, are there any systems like this out there

  2. You mean you just want to make a bubble bucket - DWC setup that isn't using a reservoir? No bubble bucket setup needs another reservoir, it's just a personal choice. Lots of people use bubble buckets as is, and have amazing results.

  3. As a matter of fact, I have several that are just single 5 gal buckets. I use one or two here and there when I'm trying a new strain or unknown seed, basically hobby type grows. With an 8" netpot, a 20 gph pump and two 8" airstones, I can fill a 4'x4" box with one plant.....They work great!

  4. what kind of air pumps work best?

  5. Yah, i've got a Single Bucket, its a Pain in the Ass, and i'll never make that mistake again...

The main mistake i made was not installing a tap at the bottom of the bucket.. Every 10 days i have to take the lid WITH THE PLANT off the bucket (place it ontop of a different bucket) then change the soup.

You cant really just 'top up' your soup every 10 days and hope the PPM and PH will be right, it simply wont happen, you need to actually drain everything away and then start with fresh soup, so whatever you do, make sure your single bucket can be drained off.

I'll post a pic in 6 hours. shes in her night phase atm (week 4 flowering) and i dont want to disturb her.

  6. I would say it was poor design rather than a system failure. Had you installed a drain and some type of intake the system would have worked flawlessly.

  7. so how about the airstones and the pump, should the bubbles be rapid, does more power on the pump deliever better results?

  8. Yah deffiently a huge mistake on my part not installing a drain, and thats the only thing wrong with my system really, my Plants looking Fine.

I've bought a few of these little outlets for my next grow (aswell as mylar etc). Hopefully proper planning will make my next grow alot more hassle free ;)

  9. What if when u need to change nutes just have another 5 gal bucket setup that you make the nutes in and then just take the lid and switch from the one its in to the new bucket thats all ready to go wit nutes and everything. Then after 10 days use the first bucket again make the nutes in that one then just switch the lid to the original bucket? every time you need to redo the nute solution just make it in the open bucket and switch the lid?

  10. Yea if you do it put a drain on it.
So you can refill easy and not have to pick up the top if you dont have to...
I dont have a drain so I have to pick it up and change the water which sucks......
Um its harder then soil.... tho.
So after I harvest the one in it Im not gona use it most likely because of space and lack of knowledge about dwc and hydro in itself.

  11. I don't see how people think it's such a huge hassle to take the top off the bucket to rewater. It takes much less time collectively than you will spend making a drain hole and not messing up. Never have to worry about leaks or anything of that nature.

None of the setups at the hydro store where I live have drain systems. If you're going to be tinkering you should go ahead and build an aeroponics system..

  12. both grows in my sig are single bucket dwc/drip systems. check it out if your interested

  13. It is a matter of personal taste. All I run are individual 5 gal DWC buckets. All it takes is a bucket, an air pump, and air stone. I can have different strains and give each of them the ppms they need. I can raise or lower the buckets to keep an even canopy.

I have twice as many buckets as I need. When it is time to change nutes, The new nute solution goes into the unused buckets. Then it is simply a matter of lifting the lid with the plant from one bucket to another. The old buckets with spent nute solution gets poured on my flower and vegetable gardens and are then cleaned and put away until next time.

It seems to me that this might start getting a little tough in a SCROG setup. If your plants are free n' easy, I don't see the problem. But once you've got a wad of tops through a screen, I don't know if I'd want to start upsetting that apple cart, if you know what I mean.

Not to mention keeping light off your roots.

  15. LOL--Oh yeah, I know what you mean. If I do a scrog, my tote has a drain on the bottom and an opening in the top for more nutes.
