  1. Here's a riff some of you might recognize.

  3. BBQ Pope just randomized as I saw this thread, lolz.

The Butthole Surfers are the shit, and seeing em live in a giant circus tent drunk as hell was probably one of my favorite concert experiences ever. The only album I'm not a big fan of is Electriclarryland and the badass thing seeing em live they didn't play a single song after Hairway to Steven.

It was the original lineup as well. And until you see em up close and think about videos of their old performances it doesn't hit you how damn old they are now. And that drugs definitely did a number on em.

Probably one of my favorite live videos of all time.

  4. Yeah, I'm not too keen on Electriclarryland either, but it's an awesome name & fuck I'm jealous that would have been so awesome.

& seeing Gibby with his short hair & glasses is a bit weird.

  5. haha, I love the Butthole Surfers!

"Lately when I sniff you baby oh my goddam!"

  6. 22 going on 23 has an amazing guitar solo at the end

  7. anyone ever see this? The Flaming Lips are huge Butthole Surfers fans. Here, when they were touring with the White Stripes, they covered "Seven Nation Army", but applied the lyrics from "Movin' To Florida"

  8. yeah man, I'm a diehard Lips fan. they're actually how I got into the Butthole Surfers. Talked about them as influences on their documentary Fearless Freaks. I feel like the Surfers were the better 80s band, but where they failed to really adapt to the 90s, the Lips really succeeded and then continued to adapt to the 2000's and so on.... Their new album is nuts!

btw, check out the internet archive:
Internet Archive: Free Downloads: Butthole Surfers
there's a live recording in there from Halloween 1984 that's sick!

Yeah, I havn't really listened to the Lips too much, but I've heard they are good, so I'll give them a go.
    Thanks for that site too!

Edit: How do you listen to the files or change them to mp.3? Coz they are FLAC or some shit & I have no idea what that is.

  10. only the Lips stuff prior to 1995 is anything similar to the Surfers. I still like their current stuff, but don't expect Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots to be anything similar to Analog Worm Saloon.

you have to read the description of the files. usually there's both mp3 and flac versions for download. check under the whole item section, you should be able to get the entire recording as mp3s in a zip.

  11. Used to love the butthole surfers but havent been listening to them as much recently thank you guys for giving me the idea going to get the ipod right now

  12. Got into them at this one party, this guy that had been railing coke had the cd on him and he ripped it to my macbook and it's been on there ever since.

  13. Ah yeah, thanks dude, have some + rep for that website by the way :D

Analog Worm Saloon hehe, I'll be sure to check that one out.

  14. Is that a good ewwww or a bad ewwwww?

  15. is there a such thing as a good ewww?

lol no i was"ewwwing" in response to the name butthole surfers

  16. Like them, hell, I fucking love them. Didn't think that i'd find alot of other people who feel the same though, haha, most of their stuff before the mid 90's is golden and just crazy. I have Electriclarryland, listen to it whenever I can, but I want to buy Rembrandt Pussyhorse and Locust Abortion Technician. Texas stoner/acid rock at its best.:smoking::smoking:

  17. ive only heard one song from them and it was off guitar hero,, not really my style but it sounded like a complete acid trip
