Is there anyone in college studying science, engineering, pre-med, etc? Do any of you guys have any time for a social life? Also, do you ever study in groups with other people? Where can you find said groups?
I have a degree in organic chemistry. You dont really have time for a social life. Between working 20 hours a week, then class, and the hw and studying. I studied by myself with flashcards for 2 hours a dya.
i'm doubling in chemical and biomedical engineering, with minors in chemistry and pre-med. i work 10-20 hours a week in an organic chemistry lab and i'm in a fraternity. i don't commit myself to studying (although i do work on my homeworks every week) as much as i should, mainly because i like socializing and not holing myself up in the engineering computer labs. my study groups are just kids that i've befriended and always worked with since freshmen year. that's usually your best bet, that or putting something on a bulletin board in your major's building.
I'm in my 2nd year of engineering school taking Calc 2, Physics w/ calc and organic chemistry plus 2 labs. Start talking to people in your classes after class. Ask how people are doing after a test and then ask if they study. You'll find the study groups. If you are a serious student, the library is also a good place to hang out and meet people. There is usually a tutoring center where you can get free tutoring and you can meet people in there if you are willing to talk to people. Look for people that are in your classes and just start talking to them about the class and take it from there.
ask your professor, my college has tutoring sessions not only for all the hard classes, but by individual teachers too. your college probably has something similar
