Post and show where your musical background has stemmed from! I just recently discovered my dad's old band from the 90's, Lower S.E.S, has been thrown onto on Youtube. He played the electric guitar. From their self titled 1997 demo tape: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJ-fXhVYYwM]Lower S.E.S. - Larian - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEGv96VIccE]Lower S.E.S. - Bold - YouTube[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3paZDcfWQO4[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-oF4FizvoA&feature=relmfu]Lower S.E.S. - Alone - YouTube[/ame] My dad also wrote the lyrics to this one: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0zr5Y7R9fw]Lower S.E.S. - State of the Union - YouTube[/ame] Lower S.E.S Opening for L.A Guns in 1997: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4l_lFkrR64]LOWER S.E.S. That's pretty cool man. My father is also a guitarist and lyricist but he has not published any work.. I have heard some of his old recordings and they are good and all.. My god father is a famous musician in Newfoundland however... Here's some of his tunes [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr0ZmC0X5Co]Neal O'Leary, Have You Ever Fell In Love - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btqRTeg5EL0&feature=relmfu]Neal O'Leary, One Road - YouTube[/ame] Probably not anyones piece of cake but he is a pretty successful musician
[quote name='"MistahWonderful"']Could I sample your dads no homo lol[/quote] Lol yeah go ahead! I was lookin to flip the intro bassline on State of the Union. Shit is so ILL!
My sister is a qualified high school music teacher. My dad played the trumpet and bagpipes when he was younger. His bagpipes teacher apparently used to get mad and say things like "you stupid wee lad, haven't you learned anything?!". Angry Scottish men at their best, dont make great bagpipe teachers apparently lol
My dad was a drummer when he was younger. He was one of the top drummers in Virginia back in high school. He got to go to Europe for like two months and travel around because of it. He's the reason I started drumming. Now that I'm in college, he said he's going to get his own kit again and we're gonna jam when I'm back. I can't wait
Not anything famous. My mom and one of my sisters sing, pretty good too. She competed in Canadian Idol back in the day. My younger brother can play the acoustic guitar. I can play electric guitar, accordion, harmonica, flute, and piano. Not so bad at singing either
Got a grandfather who was a new orleans jazz musician in 1925 was in a couple different bands , other than that Idk
