I have as of yet to find an emo/hardcore/scream druggies. Alot of people hate on me for liking dressing this style, but i could really give two fucks about them. I am a very deep person, and prefer using drugs for more of spiritual self-exploration matters. I have been brough close to alot of people on various substance, i dont belive drugs are something to just fucking around with and just "get high". But w/e. Some bands i like are Chiodos, Saosin, From Autumn To Ashes, Poison the Well, Finch, Everytime I Die, so on and so forth.
Fuck that emo bull shit, it's really stupid. I could maybe see eye to eye if any of it's music was actually good, but I think it all sucks.
listen to some real music, not imitation music...listen to mars volta. See them live, youll understand what thier all about, and youll never listen to that crap again.
more haters, not surprised. I really dont see why people hate on other peoples music, if there just punk bitches following what everyone is school is listing to then yea, but idk. I hate alot of styles of music, but i respect that other people enojoy it and can appretiate it for that.
sorry its just my opinion, i dont judge anyone for the style of music they listen to. Thats what music is all about, finding something you can connect with, everyone is different, so i have complete respect for people who listen to emo...i just dont like hte music myself...although i like that one album by taking back sunday..tell all your friends i think it is...good album. If you guys don't like it, get out. He's not looking for a music debate. Because there are some things I could say about The Mars Volta (I'm a fan of Finch and Poison the Well. I'm not really emo exactly, but I do really like some of the music.)
I'm a fan of a couple of those bands, but I'm more into the metalcore/hardcore scene (Underoath, Between the Buried and Me, etc). Almost everyone I know in that scene is straightedge, so none of 'em smoke or drink. But they're usually such chill people (you know, not uptight preppy anti-drug people) that it doesn't really matter to me, they all accept that some people like to do drugs and don't give me shit for it. Plus like everyone I've met from the bands that play for straightedge kids is like a super-druggie alcoholic, which is like irony++ (these were pro touring bands, not just like local either). On a similiar topic, I find it a bit annoying that clothing styles and music have totally fused. Rappers wear big baggy shit with lots of ice (or at least they used to, shit, I haven't listened to rap in forever). Emo kids dress the same, metal kids dress the same, country-western stars dress the same. It's like, why the fuck do people judge my music tastes on my clothes?
fuck astro, that is a damn good point. So true. Underoath, Poison the Well, And Finch are 3 of my favorite bands. Im seeing underoath in 2 weeks, fuck yea, they are so amazing live. haha dial up is a sharp stick in the ass lol. We have a really good altenative, if road runner is avabile where you live, ask them about the recuced speed package or some shit like that. Its only 20 dolla a month and its about as fast as most DSL. if you have aol or msn internet you will acually be saving money and getting like 200x more. Its what i have and its fast enough to use xbox live and everything.

And hempress thats fucking hilarous, i didnt know that you could acually do that. One of my friends tried that, but after the first 30 days you get or whatever they couldnt get another disc to work. Another free internet you could look into would be juno. ww.juno.com i belive. Worked quite well for me for sometime.
Music is one of the most subjective things in the world. Don't hate on his tastes he wouldn't listen to what he doesn't like so obviously he enjoys his music. I think its cool you use drugs like that, that's what I do too. Anyways keep smoking and don't limit yourself to one genre of music because there is so much good stuff out there.
I've only seen a couple videos of them live, but yeah, they were a very high energy band. Funny stuff though, they *really* back up my point about clothing and music. They were dressed almost identical: Tight clothing, spiked hair, black studed belts, sagging pants with plaid boxers, those keychain hook things, and a card holder on the keychain. All of them (except maybe the drummer, could'nt really see him) had that exact same shit, although it was slightly different enough that you could tell it wasn't a uniform or intentional. Shit most of them even had the keyhook on the same belt loop. I mean I think they make great music and I like them in everything (not trying to sound like I'm on a rant against these guys, everyone in the "scene" pretty much does the same thing) but even in their promo pic they look the same:

I dont really even know what emo music IS, I just listen to underground groups from my area, but befo i dropped out of school i remember kids who would hate on me because i always smoked outside then went into school high and shit.. and those people who wear like black robes n shit and have black hair and look wierd, they'd be like you fuckin stoner i'd be like fuck up bitch and they would never do shit.. crazy wierd motherfuckers, but to each his own I guess oh, i know some punk motherfuckers like down town in the city that are arite.. 'cause they all do drugs and are arite.. i mean for clothe? they wear wierd shit but i usually wear the same shit.. i got some dickies, and i skateboard so i got mostly shoes for skating.. but like half the motherfuckers out there wear girls pants and black shirts and cop some DC's an think they're all "punk" or "emo" whatever that shit is.. no one skates anymore man.
