Any common household herbs that have a nice taste/texture wen smoked?

A friend of mine had this blend he had bought that tasted and felt wonderful in my mouth, it felt like silk vapor. And it tasted great! I have seen them for sale online but they are expensive for small qauntites, is there a household blend you could mix up?
Anything you could add to something household to give it a little flavour?
