  1. Ok GC so i need some of your expert advice. I am wanting to move here in a couple months from texas to norther california i just got a job here and am guessing i will be able to save up a little more than a $1000 by the time i am trying to move but ive ran into acouple things that have completly stomped me. with what i will have saved i would probably be able to live there for a little longer than a month if i dont find a job but i really would like to be able to find a job before i move there, so does anybody have an idea how to go about doing that? i know i can apply online and all but most employers see and out of state address and dont even consider the app and then even if they did how would i be able to interview or anything?

so any help is greatly appericated

  2. Getting a job, where you plan on moving to where the job is would pertain mostly to careers where you would be working for a larger company or such. If you're looking to get a job from like a restaurant, Bestbuy, etc, then I would suggest saving up a bit more than 1 grand and moving. It will be extremely hard for you to get a job without living there already.

I suggest you save up more and then move. Once you're settled in, go job hunting like crazy.

yea thats what i was figuring i would have to do :( dang i want to get out of TEXAS so bad... if it were you how many months worth of living would you try to have saved before you moved?

EDIT: yea im 22 no career so it would be a job like a resturant or something and im hoping to move to Sacramento or at least thats the area i have in mind at the moment... if it were Orange County i would be well off as i lived there 2 years ago and i know i could get a job but theres no way i could afford to live in southern Ca

  4. From what Ive heard its a terrible idea to go to NCal without a job.

Are you considering that area because you want to grow weed, because if you are keep in mind that the successful growers there are making a lot of money because of how large scale their ops are, and believe me they want to keep it that way. More than ever now too, as the areas been getting a lot of media attention and many people want to grow there now.

If you want any chance at all of being a successful grower in NorCal your going to need A LOT more to invest than 1,000. Like at least 100,000 more lol.

Good Luck with what ever you decide to do.

  5. lol growing would be great but not the reason i want to move there... I have a daughter with my ex who lives in southern ca with her fam now and when we were divorced i moved to Texas but now ive done a lot of growing and realized i really want to be a part of her life but now im so far away its impossible, so ive found out that ncal is much more affordable and is a lot closer so i would be able to actually see my daughter and afford to live

  6. Alright that makes sense.

Well your right it is cheaper up North, but I've also heard the desert areas are real cheap as well. If you wouldn't mind putting up with the climate you may want to look around Palm Springs as you'd only be like 2-3 hours away from LA.

  7. ive looked some in that area maybe ive got to do more looking but from what ive seen online the inland empire doesnt really have that many jobs open... plus im still going to be smoking and from what ive heard up north its like 30-40 for an 8th were as down south its like 50-60 so id be saving a lot as far as that goes too lol but i could be mistaken cuz im just going by hear-say
