I was diagnosed with anxiety/depression a week ago and have been taking 10mg of Celexa. Has anyone else used this medicine before? I found that the first two days on it I felt great when I was high (I didn't have any anxiety at all, I normally do.) After that though it went downhill, especially the last couple of days. Whenever I'm high I have just been feeling really anxious and paranoid. I know that the drug I'm taking has the opposite effects that marijuana does so it's probably not helping, but I do not want to stop smoking.
I knew that. My doctor said it would take anywhere from 2 and a half-four weeks to start seeing effects. I just realized that my anxiety levels while smoking probably wouldn't be affected by that yet then.
My girlfriend has the same combo and still smokes with great results. The combo of prescription and weed has worked amazingly and she hasn't had an anxiety attack or spout of depression in a verrry long time. She takes 20 mg of lexapro if you're curious.
Yeah, I've had anxiety for quite awhile now and depression just recently. I want to feel better though so I really hope it works. That's great that it worked for your girlfriend Kyle!

Just stay strong, never forget to take your pills, and ALWAYS order more before you're out. We forgot to reorder pills once and it was so bad. She got really sick and the depression/anxiety starts coming back. She never forgot after that.
Alright, thanks I'll keep that in mind! Your girlfriend is lucky to have you, you seem very supportive. I kinda feel like my boyfriend doesn't understand it.
I'd chill on the pot IMO. It brings out anxiety/depression in me and alota other people as much as us stoners hate to admit it...
It will take 2 weeks for it to build up. Marijuana naturally increases anxiety, but sometimes reduces it. Depending on your situation. If you've got a police cruiser behind you with his lights on and your bowl still smoking, naturally you're going to be feeling some anxiety. If you're chillin in your house listening to tunes, most likely you won't
At first, I thought people who "had depression" were just a bunch of babies who needed to grow up. But after dealing with it first hand and seeing her every single day I could notice changes, she would just be happier. And then when she missed pills I really understood because she hit rockbottom FAST aftrt not having her pills. She was a completly different person and now am very thankful for proper medications.
I spent 72 hours impatient last week and it did me a lot of good. They have me on 20mg paxil twice a day but I feel nothing yet. The best meds they gave me is 2mg Ativan. It keeps me very calm and sedated. I got ambien for sleep. I just take an Ativan and smoke a bowl and I'm out like a light where before I was up all night.
Yeah, maybe I just need to have a talk with my boyfriend and see if there's anything he wants to know about it. Max- I had a really bad anxiety attack at school in grade 12 (2 years ago) and they called the ambulance. The paramedic suggested I get Ativan but the doctor I went to decided that the Celexa would work best for me. Glad to hear that worked out for you, hope you're feeling better!
To me, it is most effective for treatment of nausea, as a sleep aid, or to help me decompress after a melt down.
I wouldn't chill on the pot, I'd chill on the prescription drugs. Most of that shit is poison for your mind, it doesn't work, and it will turn you into a zombie. When it doesn't work your doctor will give you a new potion or just tell you to keep taking it. Its all guess work in a white coat; And how good do you feel knowing 90% of Family Practice MD's take kick back pay from the drug companies they write Rx's for? Big Pharma is a racket.
