This is my first time posting to grasscity, so hello everyone! Last night I experienced quite possibly one of the most aggravating, confusing things ever. Ive been smoking for years, but for the past 8 mon its been daily, mostly at night before bed. Last night I smoked around 1230PM and didn't get sleep until 6AM! No I'm not smoking mids, its pretty good dense bud with visible crystals. Whenever id turn the lights off and lay down, my heart would start racing & I would become crazily nervous and scared... but for no particular reason. I would have a very heavy feeling in my chest (due to the nervousness, not physical pain). Also I was sweating, the only thing that would calm me down is turning the lights on or going to a different room... not sure what this is or if anyones experienced this, but wouldn't wish this on anyone. Extreme paranoia? Anxiety attack? Hell maybe its time for a T break:confusedalt:? Not sure, but I ended up laying on the couch downstairs and passing out.

  2. Weed can induce paranoia and anxiety which is what you described. Too much THC too fast or more than you're used to can make it more likely. Just smoke a little and get high gradually I feel like that's a good way to make it less likely. But really it's all about your mindset and just being able to elevate any anxiety on your own in your mind.

  3. true and thanks for responce. usually i would smoke a blunt before bed, but since I'm running low I decided to take GB's. I probably took about 8 good ones. Maybe that was it...? Gravity bongs and a blunt are very different ways of smoking so that mighta been it. Only take gbs on occasion.

  4. Well smoking out of a bowl you seem to get a lot more high off the same amount and plus with a bong or gravity bong like in your case you're inhaling a lot more smoke at a time than a blunt/J so yeah that could be why. I'd just take it slower/easy.

  5. Some strains do this exact thing to me. The latest was "mountain top". Couple hits and it was stress city!

  6. It's weird... I copped an O of this shit... been smoking on it for a month give or take and this was the first time its happened

  7. Probably low tolerance and too much THC. Could also be low blood sugar or low blood pressure. A mind without adequate rest, nutrition and too much stimulus will do some odd things. You said you used to smoke more but recently cut back and then smoked a bunch last night? That tells me too much too fast. You were trying to smoke at a level you used to but have a different(lower) tolerance now so less goes further than it did. Also smoking when I am tired usually leads to a bad high so that could have been it. One thing you can try is to lay off the gravity bongloads and just chill with a one hit. See where your new limits are and if you could take it slow. LAst resort is to just stop.

  8. First off, welcome to the city blade! My input on your situation may be the case that anxiety was triggered by environmental factors, not the control of the substance you intake. While we have many variables that could trigger an anxiety attack, the most notable reference is media consumption that we probably take for granted. I cannot be sure as to what your living conditions are, but lets say you were recently affected by the news and you fear the terrorist attack that occured in Spain just days ago kept you up at night. There are daily events that are outside of your control that you may erroneously attribute to your living situation.

Though I cannot tell you how you live and what may cause you to feel this way, emotions of being trapped in a situation outside of your control will only be helped so much by smoking weed. As many others instantly do, they attribute their stress to the activity at the time of feeling stress, which is weed. Maybe take a look at the other factors in your life like your relationships with friends and family, your nutrition, your news monitoring, or even your pets. Nobody can live your life for you, however asking for help is often a good start. Cheers!

  9. I get this a lot IMO it's the euphoria building up atleast that's what I tell myself. I try to not focus on the body high if to intense I focus on other things. One thing that helps me a lot if it's turning into a panic attack is lay down close my eyes and try to think of nothing or a really happy memory most times I fall asleep or am fine after a few minutes breathing and heart rate slow down and racing thought go away.

  10. I have GAD and panic disorder and I can't smoke. At all. Even if I've taken all my meds I can't.

BUT my body reacts beautifully to edibles. I particularly like the 51/50 bar.. I forget the brand but it starts with a K. You can find them basically anywhere. I haven't risked any straight sativa but that particular cookie cake thing is a hybrid that leans more towards the sativa side.

I think edibles also are better for anxiety since they don't hit you all at once. It's something about the smoke hitting my lungs that triggers panic attacks in me, yet I smoke cigarettes. So it only makes sense..
