Anxiety after smoking

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by Green Plant, Aug 10, 2012.

  1. I have been smoking close to 5 years now (not sure if you'd consider me seasoned or not) but the last few months ive been experiencing anxiety when i smoke instead of the typical "high" or "happy" feelings that accompany the smoking of mary jane. I'm not sure what to attribute this to. any advise?

  2. Maybe it's just time for a short break? Let your mind clear up and get accustomed to being sober that when you smoke again it will be "new" once more and you'll have the good feelings again?

  3. I have the same thing man. Just about a 5 year smoker too. I think we are both due for a longer T break, probably a month or more, to reset.

I haven't gone more than probably a week t break since I began, so I'm due for a longer one.

I play in a band though, so stopping is brutal.

  4. you can't handle it. It's common man.

  5. I've had periods of anxiety when smoking. I think it has to do with your surroundings. When I smoke somewhere I know I'm safe or where there is no worry about getting caught, I always enjoy my toking more. But when I'm buggin' there's no stopping.

good luck man, maybe a break is in your future. I know when I get back to school I'm in for the same ride.

  6. if thats the case grind up, roll up an smoke upanother j after smoking. continue until you forget wtf anxiety means ^_^

  7. or until your so baked you cant roll-> the trick is not to stop smoking..works everytime..but dont quote me, i'm sober atm.

  8. ^ Agree'd had the same problem, Until i figured out it was the people i was smoking with were shady and tripping me out to much. But when i got it i always took a warm shower and after about 2 minutes change it to almost cold. Works everytime.:smoke:

  9. Experiencing anxiety or "pot panic" when high is quite normal. I've been toking daily for 25+ years, and the times I have experienced paranoid trips was after a long break, and then immediately smoking too much the 1st time after I started back.
Strain and potency play just as much of a role of inducing paranoia and/or anxiety as setting and psychological predisposition,IMHO.In my experience, Sativas and sativa dominant strains have always been to blame when I've had an epsiode. If at all possible, try sticking with kush strains/other indica heavy varieties if you have a choice. The 2nd most reliable method is quite obvious- smoke a little a a time until you get the desired feeling you're after. Fuck what you're friends think about it, since smoking cannabis should be treated as a sacred and personal thing, and not a competition to see who can smoke the most. HTH, Peace out.
    PBG.

  10. The only time I get anxiety with smoking is when there is shit going on around me, E.G. drama, issues etc. Maybe a break until things start settling down would be good.
