No one wants to hear anything negative about weed but to belittle other people with this condition and telling them it's something else is repeating the same ignorance that led to weed being illegal.

I think anything can have side effects. Weed included. To think otherwise, is shortsighted.

I sincerely wish this was just propaganda. There is so much propaganda in this world today that I understand completely if people who have not experienced this believe it could be fake or false diagnosis.

I have been smoking almost daily for 47 years. 5 years ago I moved to an area where I had no contacts and had to bring back small amounts from when I traveled back to my old home area. So I was limiting my use as best I could to stretch the supply out. Well, it finally got too difficult to go back and obtain, or find black market here. Since my state now has medical use, I obtained a MM card and started experimenting with the different styles of bud and other products. I was concerned for my lungs as I have been such a long term smoker. So I was trying some tinctures and some concentrates, along with some very tasty bud.

Over my many years of smoking, I always found some buildup of tolerance. First toke of the day was always the best result. Sometimes I had to quit for a short while to really get that good feeling back at lower doses.

Well, over about 4 months of trying different things and amounts on a daily basis, I did notice my tolerance getting pretty high. First bud of the day still good, but could keep smoking all day and then a few powerful hits with concentrate and maybe a little tincture.

Then bang, on night late I kept hitting the stuff up late working on some stuff and then went to bed. I woke up with all the symptoms of this so called CHS. I was/am scared. I love weed. It is part of my life. I am a science researcher. I have developed some specialized gas-gas mixing technology and other oxidation and chemical processes. Much of which was done with some active THC in my system. I realize late in life I may or do have ADD. I have a hard time focusing, concentrating and being interested in doing things when not high. When I smoke it makes me active, I can pay attention better, concentrate to where I can develop technologies. I mention all that so you and others know that I am not a quack, I am trained in being objective, and I love weed and do not want to be a part of any false information that may be used against its use.

However 3 days ago was my episode. The worst (vomiting, and intense nausea to where I stayed in bed for 24 hrs) was the first day, second day with plenty of water to fluid/flush my system a little, I was 70% better. Today I feel stuck at 75% better. I feel if I clean my system out I will feel better in a few days...I hope so at least...I can tolerate pain far better than I can tolerate nausea.

So as a researcher, I wanted to know WTF! While I am trained in sciences, I am not a medical doctor. However, I am knowledgeable of much in the field of medicine. It appears that longer term heavy use where tolerances build for extended periods, a trigger change in cannabinoid CB1 CB2 receptors and potentially others can cause a person to become overly sensitive in a differing manor to the THC. Some studies show that CBD can also contribute to the condition. Because weed has been illegal for so long, good quality scientific studies on it are really fairly new and still not of super high caliber. If you do a little research, you can find some of the better studies among some of the bullshit.

As I said this was only 3 days ago. So I have not tried smoking again yet. Nor will I for probably at least a 7 day abstinence. Pot never really worked for nausea for me. I think it works for Chemo patients because the nausea generation mechanism is unique. I hope to God I can smoke weed again. 47yrs. It is part of my life and how I help focus and get things done. It opens my creativity, which I desperately need in design development work. I am going to try to smoke again. I must. A good portion of my future happiness and functionality is at least partially dependent on it. Based on what I have researched, it may be possible for me to return to its use, but at much lower usage rate and no high dose concentrates, or oral methods. I always found eating it to give me more of a narcotic feel that the one that helps me the most (smoking). I suspect this is due to the pathology of liver function that varies the compound types in the blood stream where smoking is a direct non-liver route.

I will not post back for a while. It might be a week or so, I do not know when I will try my first experiment. I might wait at least a month. I know from experience with other issues in medicine and chemical processes that if this was my first real episode, then now is the best time to best ensure a clean system before restarting. I do not want to try too quick and have another episode that puts me farther down a path of complete abstinence. Now might should be my best shot at resetting myself somewhat, and I do not want to blow it. Sure would like to blow a dubie though.

My first experiment will be to smoke a lower THC content weed (probably still around the 14% range because of what is available at the MM dispensary), but maybe only 0.2 grams in the morning, then none the rest of the day and none the next and then go from there. I will report my progress. If I get sick with such a trial, I will be so so so so bummed out and feel F's for life in certain ways, not all, but it will effect my future enjoyment of life.

If I do get sick, I will abstain for longer and try again. If I still get sick I will abstain for a year and then try again. I love weed. I always have. It is a wonder drug. But it does appear that developing a high tolerance and then pushing it, could trip people into this long term problem.

I do not know if the link below will work, but it explains some of the clinical pathology/pharmacology that appears associated with this jackass of a damn condition I appear to have. There is more out there, but it will be awhile before more and better information is generated.

Believers or not, take care. If you are not a believer, it is because you have not experienced it personally. So I would recommend people be aware of high tolerances building up and potentially edging into this condition.
