Hi I really need some ideas because mine was bad haha I built a 4.5x4.5x6 grow room 400w cmh air cooled 2 fans in and out take. The bad Idea was to have the fans running constantly on low cfms.. my girls are pissed I want to stick with air cooling, I was looking at C.A.P Air1 your 2cents are welcome.. peace
What size fans do you have? Two fans often fight against eachother. One properly sized fan can do it all.
I was hoping you wouldn't ask that lol the outake is a 6 and the intake is a 4 they are both plugged into a speed controller, I understand one can do it all(I have thought about taking out the 4 cutting the hole bigger and put a scoop on my grow room lol I chose the second fan so there would be no static pressure during the air exchange and blow some air around..
I have found they are a lot more expensive but that is just what I have found. I just have one that is meant for the desk bolted to the ceiling.
Wanting negative pressure? I have the oscillating fan on the ceiling mostly blowing on the top of the plants to blow them around and help them develop stalk strength. I am not completely air tight or anything enough air gets pulled into the box. I also have a 440cfm fan through carbon filter in mine. Also have a backup ONA bucket if smell gets strong.
Using intake fans is a bad idea for just this reason. Having a 6" exhaust fan does no good with a 4" intake hole. You can put in a 20" exhaust fan in and it will only pull the amount of air that is capable of moving through that 4" hole. Your design has limited your airflow, and that is causing your heat problems.
yes...I know this it blows being limited... haha did i say heat problems?
No you really only stated that your ventilation was bad, my apologies. However, a controller most likely isn't going to make up for a poorly thought out ventilation system. They just turn shit on and off, not correct for the ignorance of physics.
what filter? enlighten me how physics come into play..? no need to curse either that's what I need something to turn fans on and off, I am trying to create sustainable environment..
Filter or intake side of fan. Makes no difference really. You can have your fan wide open or slap a filter there. Either way the room should be under vacuum (not static nor positive pressure) If the room is negative when your main exhaust fan is on then any leaks in construction will allow air into the room/box as opposed to air leaking.
Negative. Like if you were growing in a tent. The sides would all be sucked in a bit when it's all zipped up. The air inside the tent at this moment is negative pressure AKA under vacuum.
