I've always been pretty fascinated by stories mass shooting events, as many people naturally are. Morbid curiosity, I guess. What fascinates me the most, however .. is the information that the killers knowingly leave behind .. the messages they want the world to see.. especially the journals of Eric Harris. Too many people tend to over-analyze the motives behind these tragedies .. when a lot of the times, the motives are being presented right before their eyes. I could have sworn that I have read and watched hundreds of nearly identical ramblings on 4chan, YouTube, Reddit, Facebook ... and various different online forums .. ramblings which are almost identical to those written on Eric Harris' journals. I spent a lot of time on the internet, needless to say. There's a lot of crazies out there .. I have read posts on online message boards, post that are even more disgusting, creepier and a thousand times more violent than the Harris journals ... .. and yet, the fact remains that only a minority of these individuals, will become actual, successful mass murderers. There really isn't anything special about the writing of Eric Harris. In fact, the reason they have been so fascinating to begin with .. is because of how relatable they are. Let's take a look at a few of his paragraphs: ~(@)~ 4-20-99 a Columbine site ~(@)~ All about the Columbine High School shootings Columbine shooter Eric Harris' Journals and Writing George Carlin once famously said 'Inside every cynical person, is a disappointed idealist'. That's right. What you're reading here is the rambling of somebody who once had an idealistic view of the world, but likely ended up being burned out by a series of negative life experiences (not necessarily bullying, but more like .. failure to fulfill certain desires), which instilled in him a sense of denial .. eventually followed by a sense of bitterness, which probably explains why a lot of passionate Liberals ended up turning into Right-wing nationalists in 2015. That's all there is to this paragraph. This one is easy. Hatred of school, hatred of work, hatred of adult responsibility. Yep, we've all heard it before. As a matter of fact, it takes effort to achieve excellence in this life. It takes effort to get the things you want. It takes discipline. It takes the will to rise up from constant defeat, it takes the courage to believe in yourself, even when everybody else tells you that you are going to fail. Why do you think there's so many books about weight loss? Why do you think that there's so many low-fat, low-sugar product alternatives on the market? Why do you think there's so many annoying ADs and popups on the internet ... advertising Hot Russian women looking for green cards? Well.. that's because most people aren't willing to go through the pain, the pain that it takes in order to get the things that you want in life. You don't lose weight by dieting .. you lose weight by doing what everybody else hates doing - going to the gym, and actually working out, not just fucking around with your smartphone. You don't become rich by going to college and getting a fancy degree - you get rich by taking risks and enduring uncomfortable experiences that nobody else is willing to put themselves through. You don't become a good singer by singing karaoke in a bar - you become a good singer after years and years of being told that you suck and singing ... after which you reach the point where you get sick of being told that you're a bad singer, and then you actually try to figure out what it is that you're doing wrong with your singing voice, and Fix it. Needless to say, Eric and Dylan were one of those people who were looking for a short cut to fame and recognition. Hatred of disabled people. Is it of any surprise? Of course not. Disabled people get the most sympathy and attention. When disabled people achieve something, such as people without arms being able to drive cars, or people with prosthetic legs running in a marathon .. they instantly become role models, instantly gaining recognition and sympathy and attention.. instantly put on the spotlight. For somebody who lacks self-esteem and is obsessed with fame and recognition, this would have been the ultimate source of bitterness, even jealousy .. so of course he hated the disabled and less fortunate. Mind you, Eric Harris isn't a racist when he refers to people as Niggers and Spics. Rather, he is using the terms that would offend people the most, just another way of expressing his anger and bitterness. Most people can be pretty racist when they're feeling angry, anyway ... soo .. nothing special ... Okay. So he just admit that he lies a lot. Lying is a way of avoiding responsibility. Covering your own ass when you know you fucked up, because you're so sensitive to criticism, so sensitive to even the pain of a pin-prick .. you aren't willing to face the consequences. You lack self-esteem, you're not happy with who you are .. you even admit it yourself. Remember when you were a kid and you did something wrong to one of your friends, and you were forced to apologize? Remember how hard it was for you to apologize, how shameful and humiliating it is to be forced to say that you're sorry? Well .. some people just can't handle it. The embarrassment is too much for them to take. That was the case with Eric Harris. He'd much rather make huge sacrifices in order to cover up justify his actions, than face the humiliation of having to apologize and admit that he did something wrong. I guess it's just a pathological form of Pride. It's an inferiority complex turned into a superiority complex. Yep, practically every high school kid's dream. The school gets destroyed by an Earthquake, and all the final exams get postponed... and they get to skip school and play video games for 1 and a half months. Of course they're going to write books about you, Eric. But it won't be because you cured cancer or because you were the first person to land on Mars, that's for sure .. ... even though you wished you could have. -- Well, that's all there really is to it! Two young men who grew up hopeful and idealistic, and eventually realized that life is actually pretty harsh and unforgiving, and that it takes a lot of effort in order to gain status in society. Going on a rampage was essentially a shortcut to achieving this level of fame and recognition, as opposed to ... say, winning a Nobel prize in Chemistry.
they were 2 idiots.. the genepool is better off with them removed, kill those who deserve, it.. taking a innocent life. in my book is weak,
Never believe what you hear on TV, if they tell you the sun will rise tomorrow, you can expect a 24 hour solar eclipse, either you know this, or you are among the dumbfounded sheep that graze the earth lifting your head now and then to satisfy your need to respond to the things you fear, by picking a direction to run.
It says a lot about a person that calls others sheep. I always get a kick out of it. "sheeple" makes me feel especially giddy.
So So when the news gives the time of the next days sunrise and then the sun does rise at that time are we dreaming?
The media or the 4th estate is broken and corrupted. Anyone here justifying the media is the problem.
Well it's nice and easy to say "the media always lies don't believe anything they say". Then you don't have to think and decide what's true and what's false. I try to tell people "yes the media lies but the bullshit is mixed with the truth". Things are spun a certain way. Certain facts are reported, others downplayed or omitted entirely.
Eric Harris was a stupid text-book psychopath, Dylan was a lonely weak-minded follower who had enough criticism from others and was looking for an outlet.
