im thinking of starting my outdoor plants for this season indoors and i had some questions -what light schedule should i have the plants on indoors? -and when should i start them indoors if im planning to bring outdoors mid-may to early june? any help is appreciated thanks
start then with 18-24hrs of light, and put them outside as soon as they are 4-6" tall. btw, the sun's intensity will be too strong for the plants at first, so you'll have to gradually bring them out until they get used to it. start with 1-2hrs and keep them out longer as the days go by.
if the plants are started outdoors they will have no problem handling the intense sun, but if they're started indoors, even under an HID light, they will not be prepared for the intensity of the sun. no indoor light is as powerfull as the sun, and the plants will be used to the less powerfull light. even a large plant may wilt if brought into the direct sun light after being indoors all it's life.
just some lil tid bits you may consider... - try to mimick the light schedule outside. if it gets dark at 7, turn of the lights then...turn them back on around sunrise... - when you put them outside, put them in something lightly shaded at first so they can have that adjustment. but good luck with the grow...
