hey GC. if I wanted to grow a pretty beefy, tall, bushy plant, could I veg the thing indoors for about a month to two months before growing season gets then, when growing season finally does gets here, just pop it outside and let nature take care of it from there? I mean, a foot - two foot tall plant vegging outdoor as soon as veg season arrives would make for a pretty amazing plant in my eyes. or would this not work? just an idea.
People do it all the time. Just make sure it does not go out to early and cause reveg state. Harden them off before you put in full sun. Besides that it will work great. Top the hell out it. Use a good light. Clones work well doing this for much easier to get bushy plant.

I want this baby monstrous! when is the earliest I can top a plant?
Then I would grow your seed until alternating nodes and then sex it. Take some cuttings and grow them.
yeah it's a great idea. i did that in years past - left them in pots indoors for a month. they were all root-bound and shit which isn't the best, but i just pulled the ball apart a little bit and planted in huge pots and they blew up to like 8ft.
