    Good Saturday evening folks!

With it being the first day of Autumn, and with Samhain/Halloween coming up shortly, I decided to sit back tonight and watch some scary movies, read some Creepypasta, and play some scary games to get into the season.

Anyway, as twilight has moved into night time here, I found myself reading some scary stories that eventually led to a little video game called SCP087. It is, without a doubt, one of the most horror inducing games I've ever played. I just quit about 10 minutes ago and still have goose-bumps.

The story is really simple: basically, a door with a short hallway was found in an old school, or asylum, or office building (doesn't ever say what kind of building), behind some boxes and crates. The hallway is short and leads to a staircase. The staircase has no lights (pretty much pitch black) and is of concrete construction. The weird thing about this staircase is that it appears to be endless. So an 'expert' in this type of field is called in to explore it. Equipped with only a flash light, you descend into darkness.

The game is free, doesn't need to be installed, and I've checked it for viruses using MBAM, Avira, and Avast. It's a first person game, no shooting, just walking down a staircase with a flash light.

I got to about level 30 before I quit. I didn't die, but quit out of fear. What I want to see is some people who are blazed play it, and want to know what your experience with the game is and what kind of affect some good bud has on fear. I think it would amplify it, making it for a better experience if the experience is SUPPOSED to make you afraid.

If you play it, play it in the darkness, by yourself, wearing headphones. You can't quit while in game, and can't pause. Once you hit escape, or try to minimize it, it's over, so don't play unless you've got some time to mess around.

If anybody plays it, high or not, report back and let us know what you thought. Don't spoil it for peeps though.

Negative, is this any different from posting something like "Woot, MW3 is the shiznit and best game ever"?

Also, when I said 'Us', I meant the forum.

Good catch though, I see how that could cause confusion.

  6. i got to 52 so far, deff couldnt do this sober. im thinkin now if a ghosts pops out ima beat his ass lol

  7. Wait I'm confused how is an endless hallway or set of stairs scary? Maybe if I had to physically walk up them then that would be another story.

That's kinda what I thought when I first read about it.

The thing that creeped me out the most was the darkness, the atmosphere, and the unknown. The game, from what I've read, is completely random as to what shows up when and as to whether or not there IS an end to the stairs or game. Plus the flashlight is very limited as to the amount of light it gives off.

The thing I found the scariest is the sound design. Especially with noisecanceling headphones, holy hell.

I was kind of creeped out by Minecraft too for the same reasons.

I've not played this one yet, but might have to tonight.

I also got to the 'ending' of the stairwell. Wow.

  10. Dude what? The game is so damn boring. All you do is walk down a staircase. How the hell did you get scared from this lol.

Eh, some people find different types of games scary, just like with movies. Example: The Exorcist is often considered one of the scariest movies ever made, I don't find it scary at all. Some people find slashers scary, I think they're comical. I find the unknown scary, the dark, and what's in it. This game has that in spades, especially with it being random. That's the reason I think this game would go well with some smoke. Plays off the paranoia. And there's more to the game than that, things happen as you make your way down.
