An "actual" 8 week finishing strain...

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by t33to, Jun 6, 2009.

  1. Just curious if anyone out there has PERSONAL experience of an 8 week finishing strain. I'm talking like ultra cloudy trichomes on the majority of the plant at the end of the 8th week. All of my personal grow buddies tell me that there is no such thing. They all tell me that you can cut down any strain at 8 weeks but if you want them to fill out and go right till the end it's almost always 9-10 weeks.

Just wanted to hear some personal experiences of yours.

  2. r u talking about the automatic seeds? im also searching for ppl who can tell me something bout that^^ i heared they will give u max 50g per plant^^

  3. No. Very not interested in any automatic finishes. I also don't really think those G/Plant measurements are all that useful. Unless you are talking about an outdoor plant. In the indoor grow it's more useful to measure Lbs/1Kw of light.

  4. I grew Power Skunk last winter and it flowered in 68 days. Total time from seed to harvest was 126 days.

  5. I have my first grow and I will be 6 weeks into flower tomorrow, Nirvana PPP feminized. The strain specifics on thier website say 8 weeks or less, but everyone here keeps saying 10+ weeks. I'll let you be the judge, but I don't think it will be 10 weeks.. :smoke:

  6. That's not even close to 8 weeks. Is that supposed to be an 8 week finisher.

  7. Those look pretty darn nice man. I think at 10 weeks they might be dead lol.

I wonder if plant stress delays maturing time.... maybe that's why they don't seem to ever finish when the site claims they do...

  8. My question is, do the seed companies add the transition phase to the flowering time? In other words the 2 weeks that plants are stretching. I got a strain called American Dream from sensi seeds advertised to flower in 6-7 weeks and everyone round here says its 8-9. 9 weeks being my faverit as the buds are plump and have meat to them. If the seed companies are cutting 2 weeks of "transistion" time out of the advertised flowering time that explaines it all to me, in my mind.

To get round this, I like to "Pre-Flower) in a spererat room about 1.5 times as many plants fit in my flowering room for 2 weeks. Then I select the best to go into flowering and the rest go to what ever (like outdoor or compost). And my flowering times are as advertised, sorta, depends if you count transition phase as part of the flowering phase.

    Just my 2 cents.
    peace out.

  9. Thanks,
Since this is my first grow I need to hear from others whether or not they are where they should be. The Nirvana Seed website says:
    \t\t\t\t \t \t\t \t\t\t \t \t

\t \t This strong F1 hybrid was developed in the late 90s from a South African Sativa and a fat Indica from the USA. Pure Power Plant's tremendous growth potential is a prime example of hybrid vigour. PPP is the latest trend among Dutch commercial growers because of its high yields of valuable buds. Pure Power Plant has a pleasant pine-like aftertaste and a powerful social buzz.

This grow is from 3 plants LST'd, started under 400+ watts (actual) CFL, I started flowering under soft white CFL and then managed to get a cheap price on a 250 watt HPS ballast, so now I have 250hps and used 12 CFL's for side lighting (276 watts). I have watched them like a hawk and haven't stressed them at all. I think I will grow again when this is done ;)

  10. +rep man. Well done.

And dude, yur plants look great. Nice work.

  11. top 44 matures in about 50 days, fastest non-dwarf ive ever grown, and yields are very nice.

  12. normal yeild on just about any dwarf strain is 20-30g.50g is possible but extremely rare.ive done 10 or more cycles with dwarfs and never seen that much from one,I have had a couple go close to 40,but on average I get about 25g of dried bud per plant.I use 2x 400w hps lights for a max of 10 plants at a time,5 budding,5 veging perpetual grow.I imagine with 1000w lights yield would be better, but that isnt an option for me.

  13. The description said PowerSkunk had a 55 day flowering period, but mine took a couple of weeks longer longer. It my be like another person said...when do you start counting?

IMO it is all relative, and not something to set your watch by. Strains advertised to finish in 7-8 weeks could (probably do) take longer, but they'll finish faster than a strain advertised to finish in 10+ wks.

I just grow em until they're ready.
