amplifier question?

  1. can i use a 340watt amp to power my 300 watt RMS subwoofer

or is that to much power?

  2. Depends on the sub. Some can take 2 or 3 times their rated RMS with no troubles...some get near it and overheat. If you could post the model of amp and sub I could be more help. Generally speaking, you'll be fine. Just make sure it's tuned right (input matched etc)

  3. You'll be peachy, should run no problems.

And if the box is built to spec (and built properly) then $30 is a good deal for it alone. If the woofer is in good shape, then you're laughing.

  4. woofer is in great shape i took it out and made sure hah.

awesome im glad i got a good deal.

im gopnna buy some 500 watt monster cables for this set up too.

im assuming i will be ok with these as well

and thnkas for the help + rep for sure

  5. A 500W kit is what, 8 guage? That'll be fine. Are you doing the install yourself? If so feel free to PM me any questions or troubles you might have. I haven't done any audio work in while... I miss it.\

  6. i will be doing the install my self

me and my buddy who did his so if i fuck up hopefully he'll catch it hah.

ill deff. ask you if i need some advice as well though.......its always appreciated!

the guy who owned my truck had a sub in it before because there is a cut wire where he used to have it set up. i also notcied that a hole is already drilled in my friewall.

my truck also came with a new headunit so im set.

i have had this truck for going on three years now and its nice to finally get a system in it.

total cost to me is looking to be right around 200$ i love ebay!

  7. Yeah, I had an all ebay system going at one point. Was worth a shitload more than I paid.

Someone noticed. Then they jacked it. Keep your shit low in your own neighbourhood. :) Enjoy!
