http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/02/americans-growing-kinder-to-bud.html I'd like to see something along the lines of this for Canada... I do believe this is fantastic news. Once those for legalization are no longer a minority, it's going to attract a whole lot more attention. I'm feelin it, I think weed's gonna be legalized a lot sooner than people think. 538 is an amazing source for political statistics, by the way.
This is all while still being force fed a prohibitionist media onslught riddled with half-truths and all-out lies. If people truly understood the economic ramifications and opportunities for new industry and jobs, and how science is being completely stifled, it would be a done deal.
Now cali is trying to get it legal like cigs and booze. Thank God! Now less people will use those terrible drugs.
Do you remember that big ordeal a few years ago where it was leaked that the tobacco companies had trademarked a bunch of famous weed strain names? In a press response they said "it is not because we think it will get legalized, it is so that other companies will not use the name to support marijuana use" or some total bs. They have been preparing for this day.
jajaja yeah quick .. all anti weed groups need to get every name they can think of for weed out in the open so no one can use it
Go fucking Califronia! Yeah it's obvious though... honestly i can see weed being legal in most states in about 5 years i think it will be totally legalized in 10 possibly less canada hahaha they got a few more years till its completely legal... more and more people just started smoking i guess and realized its not all that bad
That graph is really interesting! It shows that it's only a matter of time before the red and green get closer and closer
just did a quick google: here is the seconcd part of this article talking about it: http://www.drugwatch.org/Tobacco_Marijuana_Media.htm
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-pottax24-2009feb24,0,7534269.story?vote45247971=1 This links to a news article (released yesterday I believe) with a pole regarding the legalization of MJ. It shows overwhelming support for the legalization. It's half way down the page.
"Taxing pot could become a political toking point" pfffft that is the corniest headline. \t\t\t \t\t\tI see this on here. This is big. The American Medical Marijuana Association endorses Tom Ammiano's bill, because it will exempt medical marijuana from being taxed and will lower the cost of cannabis for everyone else. Normally, AMMA opposes all taxes on marijuana, but this is really more about paying to have the police go after real criminals, which works for us. --Steve Kubby, Director AMMA
