Eh...no. We have a constitutional foundation which in theory, if it was adhered to as it was intended to be adhered to and if the 16th amendment was removed, would be a great country. In practice, it really isn't. Poor education, general violation of our fellow man's rights, entitlement attitude, government as a solution attitude, high incarceration rates for stupid things that shouldn't be crimes, intolerance, people not willing to accept the responsibilities and risks of freedom, pointless wars, a culture of followers, bread and circus actually being knowingly asked for by the citizens not just offered under euphemistic names by the government, etc. All this rolled up into the legislative burrito we get shoved down our throats. Amusingly enough in a morbid sense, most people want seconds and thirds.
