A few questions for the no till professionals out there. Ive got two 10 gal LOS no till set ups that I've run two full grow cycles with. I plan on combining the two into one 20 gallon fabric pot. I want to amend the soil for its new larger pot size. On hand I have kelp, neem, crab meal. I want to add some bio char, more rock dust, as my initial recipe was light, and more perlite for aeration. A) should I mix in the amendments or top dress those in, as they will be 1/2 of the original quantities? B) Are there any amendments that I should add in order to recharge the soil for the next grow? I brew with malibu compost tea and have added 1 tea per grow so far. C) And finally, if I add more compost should I add more peat moss as well to achieve that balance?
A) Since your combining 2 10 gallons I would mix them in B) You should be good with the amendments you listed C) You can add some more peat moss How did the first 2 runs go?
Last two runs went great, not perfect, but Im happy with the results. This upcoming run will be my fourth harvest so Im still learning as I go.
I kind of got the same question but I wanted to know what I should add if anything to my soil after chopping and replanting? This is my first no till, indoor grow. I’m in a 25 gallon with the no till recipe on the no till thread. I too with MBP every water and give her a kelp, neem, ewc, molasses, LAB tea while in flower about every 10 days. I’m in week 3 of flower now. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
After I chop a plant I like to add some EWC, comfrey, stinging nettles and cover that with a thick layer of pine bark nuggets the smallest size I can get
I will add some kelp meal, crab meal, and fish bone meal. With some malted barley powder when I flip to flowering.
Thanks So about how much of each? Should I measure it out or just give it a light dusting of each to top dress? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Sorry to bug you. Would that be 1/2cup each or 1/2 after combined? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
MOFO's suggestion: 1 part old no-till soil 1 part sphagnum peat moss 1 part lava rock per cuF: 1/4 cup neem, 1/4 cup kelp, 1/4 cup crab, 1/2 cup MBP, 2 cups basalt, 4 cups biochar
