Alright, so if any of you are PC gamers who have Skyrim, you know Bethesda has yet to release the DLC for PC, and if you're like me, you know they refuse to comment about the delay and their continued back door exclusivity deals with Microsoft.

So the goal of this, is to bring Dragonborn to the PC, before Bethesda, to show them that we PC players are not second Class, and do not approve of Microsoft exclusivity bullshit.

*DISCLAIMER* I AM NOT CONDONING PIRACY, I WILL NOT BE POSTING LINKS IF THIS PROVES FRUITFUL, ONLY INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF.

MEANING, IF YOU WANT TO PLAY EARLY ON PC, YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY THE DLC OFF THE XBOX MARKETPLACE, AND THEN FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS HERE.

    The goals of this project:

Convert all .ddx files to PC Combatible .dds files (I have a potential lead, but any info would be deeply appreciated)

Convert all .xma files to their respective .wma .mp3 and .wav files (I believe this can be easily done already)

Convert Xbox .nif files to PC .nifs (I believe a simple header change is all that is necessary, but more info is appreciated)

Unfortunately, I have neither the knowledge or means to do so for PS3 players, I feel you Guy's pain with Bethesda's bumbling of this.

*If anyone here has programming knowledge or anything of the sort that may be useful please share, I am by no means the most capable techie out there, help is always welcome.

Also, if Bethesda manages to release it first (which I am unconvinced either way if they can or can't)

I may delete this thread, or I may keep it around for progress' sake if they pull another exclusivity deal on the next dlc (I one hundred percentage expect this)

  2. Nice. Bethesda had a press release stating a Feb release..who knows?

  3. Can you link to it?

All I saw was one mentioning the ps3 version wouldn't be available in January, nothing about PC.

  4. And if anyone has an xbox360iso.com or hackforums.net account, and would be willing to post/pm it to me, I've seen pages on there that contain info on Google, but I don't have an account to access them.

Or if you don't wanna share the account info (understandable) Ill send you the links and you can screenshot/copy the content.

  5. Cool! hope it all goes well - Microsoft Exclusives are bullshit I agree

Also, I wouldn't worry about the PS3 version as the standard games unplayable on ps3 anyway :p

I would love this if it works.

    Fuck Microsoft.

Edit: i don't know much about programming, but if somebody taught me how to do this i would gladly help.

  7. I don't know much about isos or any of this really, but the folks at xboxmb.com/se7ensins.com may prove useful

  8. Alright so I gave Bethesda a chance to talk to their customers and give some info, but they still remain quite, so grace period is over.

I just got the DLC off the marketplace, have extracted the bsa and esm, so its time to start converting, or attempt to.

Ill be posting any relevant updates if there are any.

  9. You guys have no idea how it feels to have the files to this dlc in front of me, but unable to Jack squat because of their weird formats.

Anywho, the .nif files have been changed, nifskope loads them, but doesn't at the same time... I'm gonna need further research to do anything with them.

The .ddx files seem the same, but that script isn't doing squat, idk if its user error or it doesn't work.

There's another type of audio file, xwm, which I understand has already been cracked so no big issue there.

Other things of note, scripts, lod, lip sync, and animation files are the same format as PC, but unfortunately so are the .nif, which xbox-y changes, I can only hope these work fine on PC, otherwise my already daunting job just got daunting..... er

  10. good luck man...i know this type of shit can be a bitch but ive only dabbled in basic haha...not much use to you

  11. The sad thing is even tho I'm fighting uphill, at this rate I have a better chance of making this available than Bethesda does, unless they already planned the release and just aren't talking.

If you wanna help tho, finding any info you can on the stuff I need is just as good as getting the files and taking your own crack at it

.ddx files have been changed, the header is completely different, so that's another bit of more research necessary

  12. Got a good lead on porting Dragonborn on xbox360iso.com, just waiting for a response to a pm.

Ive seen a few things that imply the .nif files that are in xbox format instead of pc can be rectified too.

after those its just xma and xwm files, which are easy to convert.

Just gotta hope that the lod, lip sync, animation, and script files that are the same format as their pc counterparts aren't xbox-ified, I have no way to do anything about those.

Well I could rewrite all the scripts by hand and replace the xbox ones, but I don't know shit about lip sync, lod, or animation files :/
