amazing stem thinning

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by coneman9999, Jul 1, 2011.

  1. Hi All

The stems on my plants are thinning out and the plants are falling over as a result and dying. I've researched this but have been unable to find a scrap of information about this particular condition. This has occurred just at mid-flowering. I've covered up the weak stem part with soil and helped support the plant with a stake
The plants did not have an internal little fan going while growing.

    chamber is 1.2 m2, 1200W, (HPS & MH).
    Plants are about 3' high
    Coconut fibre soil
    “House & Garden” variety fertisiler
    humidity range 35-75%
Watering is intermittent, about 15 litres twice a week
temperatures are in the low 20's C, though drop to about 15 C after the lights go out
    On a 12/12 cycle
Will take a pH reading soon

    Any help appreciated
