the only thing amazing about this is how close they were yet how way off they were. And at&t didnt make any of those products
The first commercial was the only one that had stuff that just came out kindarecently (ipad/tablets, Commercial GPS)
well i dont really see anything amazing about this. anybody alive at that time could see the world going the way it is now. but you gotta thank at&t... they should take most credit. at first internet was through phone lines. at&t built practically all those phone lines... and they had a satellite before any other private company. at&t built the foundation of today
Since it was so obvious in 1993, you must know exactly what technology and the world will be like 18 years from now. Please fill me in...I'm hoping to invest a little money at the moment. Should we expect Zoolander-like phones? Will all houses and cars be run on solar? What will the price of gas be?
LOL. "Tucked your baby in from a phone booth". The only phone booth I've seen in 10 years is at the bodega near my house. And they only keep it around as a courtesy to their drug dealing employees and patrons. And it definitely doesn't have a video screen.
I imagine even at&t didn't predict mobile phones to be as common place as they are now. I think that video was pretty cool, shows how these telecommunication companies are always innovating for products that they may not have the technology for yet. I think back to 93 and I was only 5, there is so much more technology around now than then, I just don't think we take the time to think of it as most of this stuff is so common in the Western world. This makes me think of 18 years from now and where we will be. Who knows?
I like the part that said, "Send a FAX from the beach". They were on the right track with the whole wireless internet thing, but damn...who thought we'd still be using fax machines?
