Hey blades; I'm getting a new (and my first) job I've ever had, and I'm unsure if I am going to be drug tested for hiring, or random tests after the job. I'm technically hired, and have been talking to the company for over a month and we've already established a start date, and I've signed multiple contracts and I'm just waiting to start. It's a part of an apprenticeship program, and in none of the contracts or any documentation that they've given me does it say anything about drug testings. Can they still test me without me signing for them? I was under the impression, and I of course could be wrong, that if they were to do any sort of testing that I have to sign for my consent. But I know nothing, thanks for any help.
It would have said in one of the contracts, verbally, or when applying for the job. Therefore I don't believe you are subject to random testing.
thanks, that's what i was thinking but i wasn't sure if that were the case. anyone have experience with testing but no agreement or anything prior to the test?
No, a lot of places will have you sign something saying that you consent to a drug test at the bottom of the application. If you're this far in and haven't heard peep, then you should be in the clear.
