What's up Grasscity. Basically, I just got myself into a situation with the cops and I'm not sure whether I'm gonna get screwed or not. I was sitting on this bench near a lake with a couple of my friends, obviously toking, finish up soon after, and put our bags away. About 10 minutes later, a cop pulls in on the other side of the drive and sees us on the bench and just waits there. So we try to keep it cool, go to the side of the woods and throw all of our stuff behind a tree. We start walking back, and the cop starts talking to us. Basically, he said he saw us go back into the woods but we denied it. so he says, "I don't believe a single bit of it", got our names, and told us to go home as he backed into the general area near the woods where we put our stuff. Am I gonna get screwed at all, considering he's most likely gonna find the bags?
Nope deny deny there's no proof and nothings gonna happen. If anything he probably just ran your names to see if you had any warrants/previous arrests and whatnot. you're in the clear man go look for your shit
I hope so. This all happened about an hour ago now, so I'm sure I'm in the clear now. I'm just almost positive he found our bags when we left though, which is why I got pretty nervous.
You'll be ok unless one of your group panics. Otherwise it is simply - We got ready to leave, followed Billy to the edge of the woods asking why are we headed this way. Billy - I gotta take a leak. You - No man there is an officer right there , let's just leave. And you did. You had no idea someone else tossed a bag or bags there.

I think you'll be okay. If he took your name it was probably just to run a check on you to see if you've ever been in trouble. I wouldn't go back for your stuff though. The cop may be watching the area to see if anyone comes to collect what y'all dropped.
if i was you i would go to court and fight that. you seem kinda uneducated on the laws man. maybe you should study a bit

He said the leaves and grass was wet but the bags were completely dry, I figured I'd just let it go and pay my fine.
in this case, you're only screwed if you screw yourself. dont confess to any crime. take it to court and fight it. the worst that can happen is you get convicted anyway and then at least you put it off a bit. dont get an attourney. there wont be any pleas or bargains on a case as simple as this. just plead not guilty on the basis of lack of evidence. it probably wont even go to trial (but i dont know your area) you would probably just have to appear in front of the judge
