Am I going to be alright?

  1. I have 6 seedlings that just broke the surface last night(day 4) and as suggested by so many I have them in a closet set-up until I feel they are strong enough to compete outside.

Im running two 40w/1900 lumen/48inch gro-lux "plant and aquarium" bulbs. My seedlings are approx. 2 inch away from the bulbs.

I live in Texas and the temp the last couple of days have been around 85 degrees with very light wind but my yard looks pretty scorched. should I place them outside or will my grow setup be sufficient?

  2. W/the aforementioned outside temps and w/the given age of the plants... I would wait till they get more foliage so they can protect and harden better, you don't want to ruin your hard work!

They will be fine inside for a time, then... once they are bigger... take them out for a couple of hours a day to harden them off... put them in broken sunlight/shade and keep a good eye on them!

PS... I don't know the seasons where you are... that's just a roughy of what I would do in a similar situation... cheers and 420!

  3. Thanks man I think thats exactly what i'm going to do. Its spring here but that means Texas temp. varies widely (50 degress to 90 degrees) on any given day. i'll pick and choose battles for my seedlings with the outside elements as you suggested!
