Am I doing this right??

    Hi, Im trying to get a good perpetual operation going. I have a plant that is being grown from a seed I found in some weed. Cant remember the strain so its "?"
    I wouldnt consider it an experimental plant but it is the first plant i put into my grow tent and the largest/oldest one I have. Does this look proper for training? What i eventually want is to wrap the plant around the perimeter of the fabric pot. I feel its so short to just bend right over now. Any suggestions or criticism im open to! 20190314_204329.jpg

    Wrong. What you did was tie down the fan leaves. What you tie down is the actual branches that are growing.
    I circled in red what you tie down once they grow. You need to top her on the 3rd node, then tie down the side branches and u keep doing this till u have about 8 main colas. 20190314_224604.jpg

    Thank you for the feedback and illustration. Much appreciated. I have removed the ties on the fan leaves and am preparing to top it. It will be my first ever attempt at topping a plant so hopefully all goes well.

    This is the same plant now 10 days or so later. Does this look more like it? Now i dont know if im too late to top im about 8 nodes up its starting its 9th now. Where should i top down too i feel i go too low and im chopping off so much grow potential no? I removed 2 huge fan leaves that seemed to be blocking a lot of light i have it 12" away from a 600W metal halide anf its almost 9inches tall. 20190324_005444.jpg 20190324_194244.jpg

    Top her on the top node and pull her down keep tieing her and feming and topping

    Thanks for the reply. How long after I top it should I wait to throw it into 12/12? I am looking at another 2 weeks tops in veg before i flower

    Yeah top that plant!
    I dont like to stress the plant the day of watering. Day or two after is good depending on schedule. They drink slower when stressed i feel. But they bounce back quick!

    She’ll be on schedule for flip if you decide to do it when you do!

    Let her veg out those 2.new shoots for 2 to 3 weeks and put into 12/12. If you can bend that bitch over lol. I have some Sensi Seeds coming 10 white skunk auto flowers.

    Try to avoid topping late in veg.. I did that once and stunted a few growths which hurt my final yield.

    Wait about a week and a half at least after topping to switch to 12/12. 2 weeks would be better

    I’m by no means an expert but this is what I found in my growing trials.

    All of those circled were topped right before I switched to 12/12. Like 2 days before the switch. They never recovered and never stretched like the other ones I left alone.
