Ok so I tried to place an order on ALT thursday night and it was rejected, which is strange since my card it 100% valid. I tried once more with the same result. So I waited and placed the order Friday and it went through successfully. A few hours later I received an email saying my order had shipped. As expected. Then about an hour after that I received another email saying my order had shipped...with a different order number! How can they possibly make such a dumb mistake?!?!
Uhh assuming they are sending 2 items and that you only got charged for one, I would say you're getting a kick ass deal...haha but Im sure it'll be straigtened out eventually; make sure to check your Account overview to see if you got charged twice..it could take a day to process.
Noo I got charged twice...including the overpriced shipping charge. It's just a hassle that I'm going to have to take it back to the post office.
ALT is shit website. Not even gonna explain. Fuck em. My girlfriend and I ordered off them and our order got rejected and they took 357 bucks of my card now my money is frozen for 6-10 days...Yeh Oh and I tried to explain my what happned and they never sent me an email back...Since.....
Alt is fucking werid. I had a problem with them in the past also. I tried to buy a 9mm straight HVY tube from them. And I think what you said is what happened to me. I bought the bong, got charged. it never got shipped. and the money was put back into my account a week later. It was very unsettling. GC has never screwed me like that.
I'm now banned from alt because I've had so many problems with their customer support. So much so that they just told me to fuck off now. It was seriously one problem after another till the final thing went down that made me stop being a customer. They are a pile of shit company that marks glass up way too high
I had my shit say it was denied, money got taken outta the account and nothing shipped, so i called alt the same night and the guy told me i entered the wrong address on my card and that money would be returned in a few days. Ya it was shitty but it was my fault at the same time.
I've heard your horror stories man. they are fucked up. I remember two specifically, but not accurately. you bough some expensive colab piece from them that had a huge scratch on it right? And i remember another time, I think you had to drive for like two hours to go meet them for some shit?
Yeah same story. I sold half my collection for that piece and decided I'd take a 250 mile road trip to see their shop and avoid waiting through the weekend to get the tube shipped. We spoke on the phone about me driving up and they knew I had to go a really long way. They just failed to mention the piece was completely ruined by scratches etc. They're a huge expensive waste of time. If you read around they are having a chronic problem of shipping out scratched n flawed pieces lately. Be careful people.
Damn thats terrible, i've only boughten a slide n downstem from them and everything worked perfectly. Maybe it's just cuz it's a smaller item, and easier to keep safe.
Or you got lucky. lol They have crappy customer service, crappy policy and straight up IDIOTS. You tell them what happened they don't care. They love to give you the stress and headache and to ruin your day.
No headshop should have scratches on their glass obviously. They're highly convenient for ppl w/cash who'd rather send in a money order. They seem to be a small business and i think it may be the glass supplier if anyone who probably gives them a discount on their high-end flawed peices. My Toro top circ doesn't even look completely horizontal considering they could be marking up their prices a bit more (not on worked/collab, which have always been rape status, unless ur a big time dealer!) I think their main frustration is w/ppl who can't seem to get their shit together and have to worry about not having enough money on their card if some amount is temporarily taken out. Still, if u snag something it should be urs So after driving 250mi Just619, they presented you w/a scratched peice?
Granted I've only ordered from them one time but It was a smooth transaction. I ordered, recieved a call to verify that I wasn't stealing someones credit card to buy a 400 dollar bong. It shipped that night and arrived the next morning as I payed for overnight...(i'm impatient lol) Piece was well packed and nothing at all wrong with it.
Only complaint i have against em is that i got a SYN A/C and the label must not have been baked on right because after 1 wash in simply green it was gone
I ordered my Zob beaker bottom from there and didn't have any sort of problems. Ordered some beeline and a Ben Wilson disk diffused bowl about a month after than and didn't have any problems again. I hope they aren't starting to slip though because I have been noticing quite a few more people with gripes about them and their customer service. Maybe it is because they're getting a lot bigger and it's harder to keep up with the orders?
Ughhhh I was ordering a coffee book online a couple weeks ago and the same thing happened to me. No problems with my card or anything but the order just wouldn't go through. I tried it 3 times with no luck. Then went to check my bank account online a day later.. and what do you know? Stupid company charged me 3 times for the coffeebook, took 2 weeks for the charges to finally get dropped... complete pain in the ass, never even ended up getting the book I'm pretty sure this problem arises out of having a different shipping address than registered address on the credit card... I'm not positive though but that's what happened in my situation at least. And I'm surprised all these people had so many problems with ALT. I've ordered several accessories off of ALT with no problems and some of my friends have as well... but they were just accessories not bongs or bubblers or anything so maybe it's different
I was going to order an Illadelph from them but they wouldn't respond to emails asking some specific questions about the piece so I ordered a SYN from a shop in Oregon instead.
Yeah. And I talked to them on the phone twice. It wasn't just scratched. It was destroyed. There was a 2 inch huge visible scratch from 10 feet away on the 10 arm can, and a bunch of flea bites all over the thing. Not to mention the color work had a lot of bubbles in it. Hefe wasn't on his game the day he made the work for that inline.
