Alpine Strawberry (Mignonette) Grow Log

Discussion in 'Gardening' started by Chunk6915, Dec 1, 2018.

  1. I bought some Alpine Strawberry seeds from West Coast Seeds, and followed the directions planting 3 of them in hydrated Pro-Mix Mycorrhizae (likely sterile from an O3 treatment of the house), and placed them in the refrigerator for 3 weeks.

After taking them out of the fridge, they were placed in a humidity dome under two 4' fluorescent bulbs. They broke through about 9 days ago, within the first week out of the fridge. I am mainly documenting the one that is furthest along.

I did water it once a couple days ago, and included some liquid organic nutrients. The next step is likely careful transplanting.

  2. Hi! They still have a ways to go before transplant. How long before they berry?

  3. I'm expecting some flowers or berries in late January or early February. By then I'll have them growing in the corner under an air cooled, double ended 1000W light. When I transplant, I'll be putting them into an organic soil mix for the best quality end product.
