I am in law school right now and although I studied very very hard first semester, I figured I will just do average because the curve is so damn hard (50% of the people in a class MUST be assigned C's, and only 5% can be assigned A's in each class!!). Everyone in law school is extremely smart and work hard as hell (these are the people that usually get into law school I guess?) and most of them went to top 40 colleges. However, I wound up doing extremely well somehow and now I am in the top 20% of my class. If i can maintain this rank for this semester as well, I will be completely set for the most part and be able to get a six figure starting salary at the age of 24. Although I do not go to a top school, my school is a top 100 school so higher paying firms still recruit from the top 33% and better I believe? I just checked out some firms that list grade requirements for new hires that are lower than the grades I got, and some of these places pay 3,500 A WEEK, and give you a 4,000 dollar signing bonus. The thought of someone handing me a check for 4,000 dollars makes me drool almost. The downside is that you have to work 80-100 hour weeks, but I also do have tons of loans to pay back. I am not trying to brag here guys, this is literally the most important accomplishment I have ever done for myself in my life, because if I can do it again, it basically equals 2x as much starting salary as most law school grads will get and the last 2 years of law school will be cake because I'll already have a job. Still can't believe I got grades like that though, I always figured law was my calling because I love it so much and always have, but now I think it really is. I am really not that smart, I went to the #8 party school in the country and did crummy on my LSATs, but none of that matters anymore and never will again!
Sounds like you really applied yourself and are now reaping the rewards. Good job man. Make sure you keep up the momentum. What kind of field of law are you looking into? Criminal defense(a lot of us here could use that lol), taxes? Regardless nice job.
Wow, good job. Looks like all the hard work will soon pay off. 6 figs at 24?? I wish I could hit that at some point in my life, but I doubt I ever will.
Lawyers are overpaid. Granted, they work long hours, but isn't the majority of the job just recalling information in one form or another?
Did I ever tell you what a good personal assistant I am...... But in all reality man, GOOD FOR YOU! I'm sure you'll be puffin on the best in a Nice house with your super hot wife when you decide to christen your His and Her mercedes with blunt rides!!!!!!!! -just a bit stoned
Man, that's pretty sweet.... I commend you for your hard work and integrity. I think I'd make a pretty damn good lawyer too if I wasn't so lazy.
