Update About Advertising on Grasscity Important: A New Chapter for Grasscity

almost 3 weeks old!!

    ok so dis is my first grow and its almost 3 weeks old and ovcourse i have a bunch of noob questions

    1. should i start giving it 5-1-1 fish imulsion on the 3 week? and how should i do dis? what does it mean peaple say 1/2 strenght. does it mean to give it half the amout the container tells you?

    2. i dont want to keep taking care of big plants so i want to somehow sex them early and take out the males. should i do that cover the branch with a black bag method, flower the whole plant and take clones from the female rite when it shows sex, or just let it sex on its own?

    3. i was origonaly goin to do scrog but since dis is my first grow and its from seed its just way too much work and confusing so i decided do SOG. how do i know when its mature enough to take cuttings? when the growth starts alternating even if there are still 3 point leaves? is 5 weeks ok?

    4. peaple read that its better to veg with 18/6 so when and how am i suppose to change it? should i just all at once put it to 18/6 or gradually once a day reduce an hour or sumthing?

    1.Fish imulsion is good but you may want to wait till the 4th week if the plant looks healthy. And yes 1/2strength means half the reccomended dose on the bottle. (ex. 1tbsp per gal. of water=1/2 tbsp per gal.)

    2. Examine the internodes for a female of male flower. If you can fin any then the black bag method will work, or flower the entire plant, and when it shows its sex re-veg, then clone.

    3. 1 month or older is fine to clone from and still have a good success rate.

    Im assuming your on 24/0 right now? Some people gradually lower it an hour a day until they get to 18/6, but if you just go straight to 18/6, it wont harm them.

    stonieER pretty much said it all. If you can do the black bag method that's cool, but I'm too lazy and forgetful to remember when to put it on and take it off. It's really up to you how you wanna sex them, all 3 ways work fine. You could even take clones, remember where they came from, and then sex the plants and only keep the female clones.
    And I don't know if it helps, but if I change my light schedule I like to do it gradually. I figure simulate nature the best you can.

    thnks guys. i think im ganna lower the light schedual gradualy. and would it work if i just force flower them normaly and them rite wen the sex shows take clones from the females? would dat turn the clones hermie cuss im goin to be putting it bak to 24/0? or would dat be ok.
