Turns out the whole thing is bullshit. I was right. Video appears to dispute lawmaker's claim of protesters' racial slurs - Water Cooler - Washington Times Here is video, no racial slurs: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SCs6pSE8_I]YouTube - Congressional Black Caucus 3 20 2010[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPoJGNhWB-s]YouTube - Tea Party protesters mob Reps Lewis, Carson, Cummings[/ame] Notice all the black people among the protesters as well.
How much footage do you have? Absolutely none! Were the black people in the crowd also shouting racial slurs? Why didn't the black people interviewed feel there was racisim? This is why the media does stories like this. Because even after they're debunked, the hard core partisans are going to keep believing what they want to, while continuing to spread the lie. This is why Rush calls them, the "Drive By Media".
Unless you were actually there, I don't give a shit what you think actually happened. Stop pursuing this and trying to boost that your supposedly correct on this subject. Go find something more productive to do then trying to disprove some article that you shouldn't give a care about if you think it's just a blatant lie.
hmm.. i saw one black woman in the sea of white in first video, and she was just talking a picture. Didn't seem like she was protesting, but yeah. that 45 sec video debunked everything
Having video and interviews with black tea party protesters that dispute the claims of a Democrat representative, is better than having nothing but baseless accusations with nothing to back them up.
This whole thing isn't a big deal, but you're not right Drone. I give you credit for trying as hard as you do, but you don't get any where with this kind of shit. It's okay to be ashamed of your own party man.
I like how you trade one biased source for another and then claim it's right because it fits your view, and then proceed to scold those with an opposing view for 'spreading propaganda'. I'm not sure if that's ironic or if another word would fit better?
heres my take on the situation: who fuckin cares? its a word. there is plenty of ignorance in the world, and plenty of assholes, we all know that. they are going to use bad words to get under your skin, of course! this is nothing new! remember the bullies at school? who cares. let people be fuckin douchebags. if thats how they want to live their life. giving the n-word so much attention is whats wrong with it. its a word, used to get a reaction out of people (and it did!)
Agreed ^ So you guys are more likely to believe the media and a Congressman who had lots of policy-based vitriole directed at him ("Kill the bill!", etc.) than the people who were actually at this event? The people at the event have no motivation to lie. If this had actually happened as the media says it did they would talk about how it happened and everybody told them to STFU and shouted them down, not deny it completely.
No, I claims its right because its te only evidence we have. These two clips are from the exact moments that the crowd was supposedly chanting "******" and "faggot". I didn't hear any of that, do you? So, why would you continue to beleive a completely baseless accusation? Especially after the article interviews 3 black tea party protesters who were right there and didn't hear anything. They in fact felt welcomed and not at all like there was a racist tone. You seem to want to beleive this DESPITE the evidence. Its got nothing to do with my view. Its got everything to do with the evidence at hand. So, I should ignore the evidence and just accept the baseless story? Why?
the whole thing is, people say the n-word to black people every day! and all kinds of racist slurs for all kinds of different people! you know why? its an instant reaction out of most of them, which is just what these people want. if no one cared when someone used the n-word, there wouldnt be any meaning behind it, you all should just stop posting in this thread because theres no point except fueling the fire behind the n-word
Why don't you have a problem with a story based on nothing but hearsay, but you're all annoyed by the thread that corrects the misinformation with actual facts?
The debunk thread. Cool. Ok, so none of us were there, so none of us can say first hand what, who, and how many said what at the time. I have to say though your debunk vids are weak. Here's a question you might want to try asking yourself: Why would those congressmen lie about such an incident? And don't try to say it's about healthcare or smearing republicans or tea baggers. I don't think it surprises anyone here that such an incident occured during those protests. I mean, tensions are running high, conservatives are desparate (obviously) and it's probably safe to say that the majority of racists and haters are, or think they are, conservative. e.g. republicans/tea baggers. You know that. Which is why you're trying to spin this in another direction.
Ah, the ignorance is heavy in the air this morning. Given non-biased, factual sources and the lemmings continue to jump. It's a never ending cycle.
It seems quite suspicious to me that the people they interviewed just happened to be black. One would either choose to believe the people who were there and accused the event of taking place and would be the only people who would know the truth, or 1:10 of video and 3 people who are only black because there was a claim of racism and if black people are okay with it then it must've been okay. The story panders perfectly to two different types of mindset. Immediately after I saw this thread I lost complete interest as the whole thing seems to be made up. It's entirely divided down the middle, and irrelevant.
So, my videos (and interviews with black attendees) are "weak". What does that make the original a story with absolutely nothing to back it up? Thats exactly why. As well as to intimidate any Democrat who might vote no. Its been going on for a year now, how in the world can you deny it? This is all spin based on left wing fanatics like Matthews and Olbermann. You continue to accept this story as fact, with absolutely nothing to back it up, because it confirms your stereotypes about anyone who disagrees with Obama or Democrats. I mean, where in the world do you get "the majority of racist or conservative"? I dont even know were to start on that one. As if the tea party protesters are conservatives and only conservatives.
