All buds are not equal

  1. image.jpg Do you separate tops, middles and bottoms? Do you harvest some areas and leave other spots for later?

Harvest is coming and last time I harvested I had so much material that needed drying and cure it just basically happened one plant at a time. All buds from one plant together. In my haste I took main stem kolas and trimmed each bud off the stem they got mixed with buds from other areas of the plant. Should care be taken to preserve buds from the main kola. Is there much difference between buds from the same plant? My experience has been bigger buds have a more potent smoke. Do other growers feel the same?

This year I have brown Mason jars, quarts and half gallon. I cut holes in the wide mouth jars and installed hygrometers, then sealed with silicone, pretty clever.

I intend to put most material in half gallon jar and select material in quart jars. Am I getting to anal about this? All jars are labeled as to what plant. All plants separate from others.

  2. I usually harvest in stages. Tops are usually done first.

  6. Hell yes amber glass is the way to go forsure, with the installed hygrometer in the lid its a nice touch, youre the only other person ive seen with the hygrometer in lid, we're pretty much twins now bro

  7. Yep, now just give me some ideas on selective/separation at harvest.

    Thanks Bud!

  8. You guys are more industrious than I am. I harvest the whole plant at one time and toss all the buds in the same box while trimming. I did make some of the hygrometer lids though.

  9. I definitely harvest in stages, but I've got a couple plants that are over 10 feet tall. Those lower buds just won't cut it if I don't pull the top and middle first.
