Algae on Rockwool?

  1. Using 6x6", one cube is totally covered with strong shades of green mostly, some browns...

my friend said it was algie, and is harmless from a phosphorus excess... any input on this?

  2. I am having that same proble, I started to notice the algae growing on my rockwool and it looked kind of slimy as well. So I just purchased some rockwool block covers...So once you stop the light from hitting the rockwool, the algae should die...Hope it works...Pretty sure it will work though. Let me know how that goes.

does the roots come out of the rockwool when the plants grow im using a bouuleponics system and would like to know what the best medium would be

  4. Spraying it with some hydrogen peroxide should take care of the mold. Try to let it dry out a little longer between waterings. And the covers are a great idea too.
