That's right, the Libyan people are taking matters into their own hands and taking out the militia's, the extremists, the so called freedom fighters, the terrorists. The protests began Friday where men, women, and children gathered thousands upon thousands in Benghazi. Libya, since the civil war, has been overrun by terrorists. The freedom fighters had known terrorists among their ranks, their leader being one of them. These terrorist also freed their fellow terrorists from Libyan prisons put there by Gaddafi's forces. Libya's Gov't is weak, as is the military and police. Security is lacking and because of it extremists have had free reign, ie the US embassy attacks. One day after the September 11 attack on Libya's rallied in Benghazi apologizing to America while protesting terrorism. Libya - Imgur So this past Friday another protest began and when night fell women and children were escorted home while the men continued the protest taking them to well known militant's heavily armed bases. The people were protected from the air via a military gun ship who made low sweeping passes to remind the people the military is with them. The extremists bases were approached by waves of unarmed protesters. Shots were fired from the terrorists but the protesters just marched on. The terrorists began to flee in fear and abandoned their posts. Their bases were penetrated, looted, and set ablaze. The days of terrorism and hatred in the Middle East may one day end, if this trend spreads - but it's going to take a long time to completely eliminate it.
Bless these people. What bravery standing up to armed thugs who are actively shooting your fellow protesters and scaring these thugs away. How inspiring! I guess thats why the MSM isn't covering it. Wouldn't want copycat protests in the United States taking down our extremists groups.
Well yeah, that's true. It's not going to end tomorrow or next month but in time I hope this trend continues and the people rise up against the terrorists. That's really the only way to win that war.
I agree with you 100%. This is an inspiring story that I hope spreads, but I have my doubts Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and the rest of the Middle East will follow suit although you never know. The times they are a changing but it's going to take time, as with anything in this world. Libya is definitely a symbol for the world, America especially. We do have the Occupy Movement, so at least there's that
The occupy movement needs to stay on the right track. They are in grave danger of being infiltrated by the corruption currently in control. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2012/09/24/world/africa/libya-orders-unauthorized-militias-to-disband.xml I hope the Libya trend spreads. Maybe 2012 is a new beginning
Fuck yes. Now this is what the fucking I'm talking about. For once, something fucking huge is happening, organized at the grassroots level, for the greater good of a country that wants freedom. This brings hope to my soul and tears to my eyes.
