Alcohol hash!!!!!!!

    Hey all this is my first attempt at alcohol hash.

    Its simple.
    91$ isopropyl alcohol

    I filled this up 1/3 of the way

    Swished all the pieces of my grinder for like 30 seconds then dumped it in a plate with a fan blowing on it. This stuff is GREEN

    Will upload finished product in a few hrs

    Did you use a coffe filter to pour the alcohol through?

    I don't know what plastic that is, but please tell me you checked the chemical compatibility of it with Isopropyl alcohol. Best to just use a glass jar..

    To get higher quality, try swishing it for 20 seconds - ISO is of middling polarity and can extract both the good and bad. But I've done minute + washes; <== My bad, this is for bud, didn't see you were washing your grinder; the same applies, but you want to get your grinder clean.

    Try running it through an unbleached coffee filter to get rid of sediments next time as well.

    Not this time. I thought about it but I dont mind it having a few pieces of herb in there.
    Next time I'm going to filter it though

    If it came out green, that doesn't sound good, sounds like it will be a real harsh smoke imo, it's supposed to come out more tan/sandy blonde depending how well you rinsed/evaporated the alcohol from it.

    evap time I think comes into play as well.

    you dont want soup, and if youve never done it you might be to anxious and scrape it up to early.

    I dont know if alot of other people do but if I scrape my ISO up and its still tacky, Ill smear it back onto the glass with the razor thin and let it dry up some more.

    I usually do that to the whole batch after wards to get a more even consistency, oil seems to congregate in one spot for some reason in my experience. so some spots dry out thinner.

    The reason people use a filter when they make iso hash is because not only does it filter out the plant matter that has already been washed of thc, it also gets rid of the solid matter that alcohol can be attached to. Maybe i'm just very pre cautious, but I would never make iso alcohol hash without a filter. I just have a feeling that in the end only some of the alcohol will be evaporated and I will be left with a thc/plant matter/iso alcohol gunk that is terrible to smoke.. goodluck none the less. Maybe next time go through the extra step and filter it and you will see the difference in quality/smoke.

    Thanks guys, definitely gonna filter it out next time.

    I let it dry for 30 hrs and this is what I came up with
