Airflow question

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by 42degrees, Mar 9, 2008.

  1. Getting my grow room set up... I'm working with a 4' X 2.5' X 6' space. I'm thinking of getting a 600W HPS/MH ballast with an air coolable reflector. Instead of running two exhaust fans (one for room, one for light), I was thinking of trying to do both with one fan.

If I have a CAN filter hooked up to ducting, the ducting is hooked up to reflector hood, and then more ducting out the other side to the fan on top of the room, would I get enough air flow? I was thinking a 6" inline fan. I feel like this should be enough to keep the room cool and circulated while removing heat from the light as well.

    Any thoughts??

    Thanks!

  2. I am curious about this too. As I was planning on my cool tube to actually be the exhaust.

  3. I used to run my system simillar to what you guys are asking and it worked fine.

    I had it set-up like this -
    Carbon filter...Fan...cool-tube....duct, to outside.

  4. for safety just make sure you have at least double the amount of passive intake as your powered output and you'll be fine

    good luck!
