Airflow in PC Grows

Discussion in 'Micro Grows' started by esauftw, Feb 4, 2011.

  1. So i'm currently regenerating my old PC case into a small grow box. I was wondering how many intake outtake fans are needed.

Currently i have 2 80mm fans, one for intake and one for exhaust. (They were both intended to be intake).

    Like so:

Will this be sufficient? I was planning on having a 120mm exhaust fan on the back wall, as i thought that would be perfect to remove the hot air. Part of me thinks this might be overkill for such a small grow space.

Any and all opinions welcome and appreciated!

  2. I would have them both exhausting air out , any hole In the case will be sufficient In-take Of air

Having them how you have, Would probably be best for a Pc case though to be honest Im not sure - I think If your planning on having a few lights In there ( about 5-6 ) you will wont them both exhausting air out - to keep Temps. Down because they could reach 90-95f . . .

  3. So two 80mm fans on exhaust will be enough? If that's the case i might move them to where i planned to have the 120mm fan and have them both on exhaust like you said.

  4. Yh I would have them both as exhaust's ( pulling air out of the box )

Because If your pc case Is not 100% Air tight , Air Will be pulled Into the grow box though any gap on the case

If you want to manipulate the way the air flows you need to make It air tight first then choose where you want the flow of air to come Into the box & leave a hole / gap In the reflective materiel . . . Hope Ive been clear - & I hope I've helped .. .Good luck with It all man

    Peace out __\V/__
