  3. what kind of room are you growing in?, is it something you can cut into, not rented or mom's and dad's, lol. if the fan works you should be able to cut like a window for it, near top of your room. may have to use a small amount of ducting to keep it light tight. don't know what you know or don't know about constructing. if you ask more specific questions, I'll help more with what I can. I don't know what you second pic is, I don't use anything that high tech, that I know about, lol.

  4. oops intake, was thinking exhaust, err, fan near bottom of room, you probably won't need more than passive intake unless you have a pretty good sized room.

  5. the first picture

Thats a Case Fan (used in Audio Racks) its 120 volts and plugs right in, these are the type i use, they blow a hell of a lot of air and sounds like an f16 when it starts up LOL.

  6. that is too much i can get a dc case fan for 2.99 will that work to power it?

  7. Why dont you go and get a cheap power supply for a computer and instead of using all the plugs just plug in all of the 12volt molex connectors to as many fans as you want? You could even buy a fan controller to adjust temp and fan speed!

Justbe sure and read reviews and maybe check the picture to make sure you have any needed adapters or connectors. Good luck!

  8. do a search for "muffin fan" on e-bay.

Hi. I thought about using a puter power supply unit to power my grow box fan. The only problem would be turning on the PSU to get the power to the fan. This is normaly done by connecting the PSU to the puters motherboard. The power to the fan is switched on when you boot your puter. mmmmmm getting kind of complicated. A far more simple and easy way is to use a 12volt transformer as I did, loads on E Bay. Check out my grow box at:-

Hi. U.K. members can buy a 12 volt transformer at Argos. Problem solved.

  10. Even with a big room, so long as your exhaust fan cuts it, a passive intake (simple hole, twice the size of the exhaust) is usually just fine.

  11. you're best bet it to order rack mount AC fans

these bad boys are metal from blade to body slightly larger than a standard 120mm fan and they'll bust a finger if you let 'em but mangler issues aside this type will give you more bang for your buck and push way more air

also duct air handlers (fan in a standard metal duct to boost airflow in heating systems) are under 20 from depot and they'll do the trick

either that or you use what you have with a wallwart 9-12v adapter or a power supply wired always on
