does anyone out here on gc have a preference or experience with these when it comes to the a/c reflector and the cool tube.. i have 6 plants in 5gal pots in a 5x4x7area with a 400watt hi bay hps and becuase the ballast is on top of the actually light&reflector ive lost a precious 1.5'-2' of grow space so i have to veg soonen that i wanted and even with a intake and exhaust set up the temps are still around 90ish with the door closed.. the plan was upgrade to a 600watt digi with one of these air cooled lights instead of a hi bay hps like this link here shows.. and use a CO2 set up so then the exhaust wont take out the CO2 that im trying to feed to my plants http://www.e-conolight.com/Product/EProductDetail.asp?ProductFamilyID=8&FGNumber=E-HB4M40Q only its a hps not mh..please post and give me your 2 cents on what you would prefer or if you have used either..and what your results were like
its between one of these set ups from HTG air cooled reflector: http://cgi.ebay.com/DIGITAL-600-wat...42225QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 287.95 http://cgi.ebay.com/DIGITAL-600-wat...42225QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 286.95 so theres not a difference in price just preference and with a guess being my area 5x6 i would guess the air cooled reflector works better but idk...thats why i need your guys opinions...thanks again!
That is a good deal for that cool tube. I have bought from them before.. great products.. it wasn't the cool tube though. With the cool tube you will get better suction so less heat.. but the reflector gives a bigger space light by spreadin 'it round(sings phish song<---).. You will always find little holes in vented reflectors at least in mine that dont make them 100% air tight.. where the socket is too.. I have seen some that have better all around suction like some of the sun systems but you are spendin money.
i looked into both of those man, the best thing inho is the air cooled hood, youll get a much better coverge area and if it is a straight shot like the cool tube, it will stay just as cool
air cooled hood all the way. Cool tubes are great at removing heat, however the reflector is so poor that you actually end up losing out on light despite being able to get the light much closer. Air cooled hoods combine the best of both worlds. You get a good reflector and an easy system for removing heat.

i think a cool-tube would be better in a cabinet. as stated, you'll get a better footprint with a hood. i've seen cabinets fitted with hoods too. you just cut a hole in the top of the cab and leave the majority of the hood on the outside of the cabinet.
thanks for all the input guys im prob. gunna get a air cooled hood because my room is a little bigger..thanks again +rep to you all!
another quick question i was planning on trying hydro and i found this 8 plant system for 90$ shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/DUAL-HYDROPONIC...6955073QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 have any of you grown with these? if so how did it workout
right on brother! those, and all like them are shit. just take a look at them, and read what's included. then go down to wallymart , buy the supplies and make a better one yourself. i've yet to see one of those that was big enough to grow more than one plant. 5 gallons per plant is what you'll need.
