Hello everyone, I have only cleaned my bong a couple times because it is pretty new, and I've noticed this every time. I use Iodized Salt and 91% rubbing alcohol to clean it, and I let it sit in the percs and shake it, along with the base. (I have a 5 arm tree perc beaker base). After I clean it there is an aftertaste... I can't describe it exactly, it's terrible though. It also smells like the aftertaste, so much it fills the room. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the problem was or how to fix it, thanks!!!
Does this aftertaste taste like.. Water + Alcohol + Weed? or just like alcohol? Cause if its just Alcohol you need to rinse it A LOT with SCALDING hot water. if its all three then you need to shake AND rinse better
I would rinse with hot ass water, and after that squirt a bit of lemon juice in, and swish it around a bit, then rinse more until its all out. The acid takes care of the alcohol and taste.
when ever I clean my tube, it taste clean... Shouldn't be to hard to wash alcohol out of your tube haha... maybe your tasting something else, lets see the bong!
ahahha, I remember one time I was cleaning my tube while blazed, completely forgot to rinse it after a quick iso/salt shake, then filled it up and took a hit. Nearly knocked me over from the iso fumes that were dilluted with the water.
As others have said rinse it out well. Dont use scalding hot water as you dont want to burn yourself, you risk cracking your bong if it cools too fast, plus it wont get it any cleaner. Hot water will do. Also its more difficult to get the percs 100% rinsed. Try shaking it more or blowing into the stem to force water up into the percs. Peace
