My flight leaves tomorrow for home and the day after I'm going shopping for food. I don't want to fall into my old groove of shit food so what should I get? I'm thinking lots of dark green veggies, and other assorted veggies (bell peppers, celery, carrots, stuff like that) for a good salad which would be my lunch for most days. Lots of fish, chicken, and pasta for dinners and such. And eggs, beans, and toast for breakfast. Sound good? Help me eat healthy guys!
Good on the salads and greens. Buy as much fruit as you can afford though! Tons and tons of fruit. Have it for breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner, dessert! I recommend bananas, dates, oranges, pears, pineapple, etc, etc....anything you want. Eat as much as you like
Yeah man, fruit is the bomb. So far all I've got are apples and bananas as those are my favorite but I'm going to get some pears and and whatever else looks good next time I ride to the co-op. I didn't used to like dates, maybe I'll try em and see if I've changed. I got hooked on this delicious stuff called Muesli in New Zealand and can't find the right kind here, such a bummer. I can't even find the list of ingredients online either so I can't make my own! But I bought some just a couple minutes ago at the co-op and I'm toasting it in the oven as we speak. Breakfast is like my favorite meal now. I groggily roll outta bed and slowly wake up as I cook bacon, eggs, potatoes, toast, and fruit with a pb&j sandwich. So goooood. And I got this stellar salad mix with loads of dark greens (spinach ftw!) and made a freaking amazing salad for lunch. Also soooo good.
If ya don't want to groggily wake up make sure you are sleeping atleast 8 hours of sleep! Very Important. Also, stay hydrated with water all day. I would ditch that bacon, potatoes, eggs, etc for breakfast if you're trying to go the healthy route too Fruit is what you need to get your day going the right way
I sleep 8-9 hours every night. Minimum of 6 and that's rare. I've always had a horrible time waking up in the morning, I just figured it was who I was. I also have these bags under my eyes no matter how much I sleep. I never really thought much of it. And I'm not looking to be super duper healthy, I'm more looking to learn to cook for myself without buying pre-made meals, super sugary shit, junk food, etc. This is almost more about self-discipline than anything else. Man I do have some trouble drinking enough tho, I need to eat more salsa. whenever I get sick I eat a shit ton of salsa so I am forced to chug water bottle and water bottle after water bottle. PS right now I'm sitting infront of a salad with that good dark green shit, carrots, bell peppers, black and green olives, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, celery, chicken, and green chile. I also have a big bowl of pistachios. Yeeee pistachios.
