Advice on not getting ripped

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by dameize, Dec 10, 2010.

  1. Hey guys,

My first few times wasnt a big deal as my mates had a rough idea etc but now im starting to toke by my self im going to have to go buy it alone etc and I dont want to be ripped. The guy I use for it I knew as he went to the same high school as me etc and was always alright. He charged 25 AUD last time for about 1.5-2grams maybe a 2x2cm bag full. You could smell it through the bag and it was kind of a gray colour and got me blasted out of my mind (third time smoking so i guess i got lucky xD) anyway he seemed alright etc but im looking to buy some digital pocket scales and the sort so I have a few questions.

Where would I find Digital Pocket Scales?
How much should i be getting roughly for $25 aud (will probably buy an ounce in the coming weeks as itl be cheaper and works out at like 8 dollars instead of 25 for teh same ammount)
What are some basic things to tell if its good stuff?

Also, I dont mind spending some cash on pocket scales etc as I think of it as an investment.

Ill post pics next time i buy a 25 he just got an ounce in so i asume its the same as last time ill ask him for more details when i next see him.

    Cheers,
    Dameize

  2. Thanks man, i was more meaning like the shops though like kmart and the sort i cant really buy it online but i will be buying some stuff in feb.

  3. Not sure what the laws are where you live but if you ge caught with a scale and some bud, it would result in a intent to sell charge or something along those lines.

  4. really even if ive only got a few grams? over here you can have up to 50g no joke. With scales i guess yeah it would be classed as dealing but the chance of getting busted are slim. I suppose i could weigh it the first time and then if its all good il buy and weigh once at home.

  5. That's probably your safest bet. Not to mention the fact that if you whip out a scale on your next hook-up you might either sketch out your dealer or piss him off. Eyeball it and weigh when you get home.

  6. Just grab a scale off ebay or a seedbank.
They shouldn't be too expensive but I'd go one around $50 to ensure you're not getting REALLY cheap shit.
As for making sure? Well all you can do is buy it, weigh it up after (yeah bringing a scale to a deal is simply not a good idea...no matter how many people say a dealer should weigh it up in front of you etc, it's not always an appropriate time and place...) and see how things stand...go small at first, so you don't stand to lose too much.
Yeah...the more weed you buy the better deal you should get, but then it's a matter of self control and moderation too.

  7. Self control and moderation are very hard after getting a little weight. "ah, 1 joint won't hurt."

  8. well my issue with buying scales online is I dont have a credit card atm its paid and cancelled as im moving in a couple of months and i dont need it anyway and my paypal is limited ><. Not only that but if my sister opens it or my parents (they dont usually have done a couple of times though and theyve put it on my bed for me as if theyre doing me a favour) but i think if they saw it was scaled or curiously asked me what it was my dad would know straight away and my mum would have an idea. I dont think theyd care/do anything but id rather stay 100% under the radar.

Would kitchen shops sell little scales? theres a headshop near where i work so im tempted to go in there but its one of those ones in a city area and theyre wayyyyyyyyyyyyy overpriced. (as in $20 at most places there its 40)

  9. They sell scales for food at places like Kmart. They should measure down to the gram, but be sure that they weigh at least to the tenth of a gram, a lot of them only measure whole numbers. I don't know what headshops in Australia are like, but I'd be surprised if they didn't sell scales like they do in the US.

  10. In the tightest of times, I have used a handheld postal scale that measured to the 1/2g. It has all sorts of imperfections such as the fact it's metal and metal changes with temp, if anything is bent, it won't be accurate, and you can't really judge to the tenth. That being said, I think mine cost $1.50us here. Easy and painless to throw away in a bind. Just don't trust it closer than 1g if it's yours and NEVER trust anyone else's since all it takes is bending a little thin piece of metal to create enough inaccuracy to become relevant.

  11. haha nice, well im not fussed about exact precision really its more just a case of a 25 should be about 1-2grams so if i weigh it and its not ill be agro. Ill probably spend money on some scales though from here eventually or if i can grab some in shops i will. Does anyone know if customs would check used scales for drugs? id be taking these to the UK from Australia in feb.
