  1. Hello the name is Nathan,

I'm very interested in getting a job in a state where it is legal to work with cannabis. I have loved and explored it for quite some time now but I'm still a little green on things. I have completed my general education and only have two years left to decide what I want to major in. Looking at switch to horticulture or a biology degree and then moving to a state where I can get some experience possibly in a dispensary then moving slowly up to being a grower. Any tips on where I should start my journey..?

  2. There are seven dispensaries in my town of 40,000 people and half of the city is now cultivation facilities and it has been pretty easy to get a job there

  4. spend 6 months in India ..see if thats what you want?

    good luck

  5. Start listening to cannabis business podcasts like Shaping Fire or Periodic Effects or Ganjapreneur. Personally, I think the growers are NOT the ones that are going to be making the big money although I think it would be the most enjoyable job. The distributors will be the ones cashing in. I know in Southern Colorado where I live, I have no local business to use that will move my product from dispensary to dispensary. The closest delivery is in Pueblo and that is hours away from where I am. There is a niche to be filled for anyone looking.

  6. Weedhaps hit the nail on the head. All the service and processors are going to be the second wave of the MJ industry. The growers and retailers were the first wave. As you can imagine big players are already claiming the big market share. However a ton and I literally mean a ton of secondary services and markets are quickly opening up. I don’t want to get too specific because I’m a competitor but let’s just say things are very good to get into now!

  8. Other aspects. Transporting, processing, packaging, testing, storage, etc...

  9. Like Nathan I am also considering the idea of finding employment in the cannabis industry. I will very soon be graduating with a degree in horticulture/agribusiness and have one grow under my belt. Still relatively new to actual growing but I have done my homework and read enough to feel like I have a good idea of what im talking about most of the time. Getting a job growing would be nice, however I am open to the business side of things as well. I just want to know how to get my foot in the door with emerging companies in my state (Medical should starting up in 2020 I believe). My work experience has all been in nurseries and greenhouses which makes me wonder if my agribusiness degree with little actual desk work would make me marketable. Not trying to hijack this thread, just wondering if anybody has any advice.

  10. Well your gonna have to stand out man cause the price of bud is getting really cheap and I mean like $40 oz's.

So your gonna need grow a warehouse full of bud just to make a profit. I wanted to start this route as well but, its really not a stable option in terms of profit or even paying off a degree.

There's a lotta red tape around being a legal grower. So I wanna go into a trade like machining now if I can.

  11. Nah... Porn star for me, but I fell short of the qualifications
