Advice on edibles?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Grump, Aug 10, 2012.

  1. Tonightt, im finna make some firecrackers. What i have is peanut butter, regular jiff. OR Nutella. Ive heard nutella absorbs the thc more but any advice would help! And also, i have some good dank. How much should i use per cracker ? Thanks fellass. Stay high :)

  2. hey i JUST had one 3 hours ago for the first time...i put .5 on one cracker...i only made one....then 2 hours and 15 minutes later it hit me....and im still baked right now!!

  3. If you have anything better available, and if you don't need to hide what you're doing from your housemates, you shouldn't
really be using either as your 'edible solvent'

If that's all you needed to hear, to understand, then you can stop reading if the below seems too detailed.

If you want to know why pure oil works better... then read on! :smoke:

    ----

Firecrackers are known as 'worst-case-scenario' edibles.. you're exchanging a great deal of potency, for the sneakiness
and stealth of the method. The time isn't nearly adequate, and the solvent is very poor.

In other words you're hiding your true purpose, under the simple guise, of a dorky little peanut butter cracker sandwich. :p

It's why people need to eat much more of their valuable herb per dose, when making firecrackers, than they
do when making canna oil, butter.

A pure oil source will make much more progress with breaking down, and promoting the bioavailability of
cannabis glandular material, in any given amount of time..

It is MUCH more efficient, compared to one that is diluted or contaminated with nut solids, water, and a cracker on
either side sucking the little oil you have, away!

So particularly if you're in a rush, or if you just want the most bang for your buck, you should avoid peanut butter
and nutella which are usually around or less than half fat.

More fat, and more saturated fat, is better...

    100% fat >>>> 50% fat

And all oil sources are not created equal..... even pure peanut, and hazelnut oils, are not ideal oil sources for processing
cannabis glandular material. Almost any oil in your kitchen would be better.

Nutella and peanut butter are nothing, when compared to coconut oil, butter, or if you're intolerant to both, or if
you can't find one or the other, then virtually any pure oil you do have around, is still going to be better than peanut
    butter.

    - A properly made edible, can hit you hard within 10 - 20 minutes, and leave you well medicated for a solid
    8 - 10 hours
, sometimes through to the following day, from less material than you'd usually smoke in a single
    session.

    - If you go with a firecracker, you can expect; a delayed onset or a longer wait for the initial sensations; a weaker
overall effect, than the same material made into oil; and a more brief or shorter-lived experience. It may, or it may
not be any stronger than smoking, unless you try to eat several times the material you'd usually smoke in a sitting.

Long story short (and an alternate option):

You'd be better off gently heating your herb in pure oil, or butter, even if it's only for the same amount of time (longer
is better), and then mixing that with peanut butter or nutella before sandwiching and eating it.... that is, if a cracker
sandwich is something you're really craving and compelled to have at the moment, anyway.

Besides being more potent, and saving herb, if you make some quick butter or oil you'll have some equally
simple, and much tastier options. ;)

Your single-serving of oil, plus a spoon each of cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and a few drops of milk and vanilla if
you like, popped in the fridge for five minutes, can make a tasty chocolate canna truffle if you roll it, or a simple
    canna 'ganache
' if you just eat it by the spoon. :D

Example of a rolled canna truffle..

Or you can omit the cocoa, in exchange for peanut butter, and you have simple PB canna fudge.

It's just like a 'Canna BOMB', but without the fuse, or chocolate coat. :hello:

A PB 'Canna BOMB', minus (then with) the chocolate coating....

    Anyhow... :p

However you go about it.... good luck, and have fun! :hello::wave:
