Greetings to all fellow blades!!! I've been a long-time lurker on this forum and this is in fact my first post in ANY forum. I know, fuckin crazy right? Anyways I'm preparing for my second closet-grow, planning and trying to cover all the bases. CFL, coco, PC fans for exhaust, some real DIY shit goin on. Today I was in my bathroom where the closet is located and I realized it has no a/c vent in the area, only in my bedroom adjacent to the bath. I already knew keeping the room cool would be a bitch, but the fact there's no a/c circulating creates a definite problem. I could push out all the heat the lights generate but the fact remains there would be slightly-warmer than room temp air coming in, because that's the only air in the area. So I'm trying to find ways to cool the room, inside the room. I've scoured GC and Cannabis-world and found some interesting takes on how to do so and vids on making a homemade a/c. I've attached some videos and I'm probably going to try one of them out. Has anyone met this problem and how did you solve it? Any take on using dry ice? Perhaps it could cool the room AND be used as my CO2 generator (I was going to make the DIY yeast/sugar CO2 anyways.) Any help would be greatly appreciated guys! I'll figure it out somehow and post pics when I've started setting up. nope bro.. not sure that would work.. insignificant if it did.. what I always did was get up in the attic or down in the floor and reroute a air conditioning duct there.. or make a new one.. you gotta cool these babies.. and even if you did use something like that it would need ice like every 3-4 hours or faster and the co2 is a good idea exept that a tank and regulator are better.. lol.. bro reroute a ac duct and then buy a 400 hps to put in the closet and crank out a nice little grow.. you won't be dissapointed...
400 watt in a closet will produce a nice stash for 1-2 regular smokers. But get your cooling right first. If you are going to use 50w-100w (actual watts, not labeled watts) of CFLs you wont need a really serious airflow. You might even get away with exhaust and passive intake of air from the connected room (provided that the room stays moderately cool and smell is managed). But sucking some air from the lower crawl space and exhausting hot air to the attic is probably a decent way to go. Don't need to get all fancy with air conditioners until you jump up to higher wattage my friend, which you probably wont do in a closet anyways.
