Advice For First Bong Purchase For $200ish

  1. So I'm looking to buy my first bong. The main things I'm looking for is that 1) It has thick glass (at least 7mm). 2) A percolator. 3) It's 18 inches or shorter. 4) It costs $200 or less before tax and shipping if applicable. (if I have to spend another $25 for something much better that's doable)

So with that in mind does anyone have some suggestions for me? I was looking around on GC and the only thing I found that I liked and fit my description was this bong by Flaming Skull. It seems pretty good to me, but since this is my first bong I don't know too much about them, and my friends that have them just go for cheap china glass so I don't really have anyone to go to for good advice but you guys :D

I've seen some hate against this brand on this forum before but it was mostly of people posting like $80 bongs by them with a perc, so I'm guessing this could actually be a solid water pipe.

Thanks for any suggestions you throw at me :)

  2. Haha I've always just used for the most part a pipe or my MFLB so I don't really know what a stemline or single disk refers to. What are they exactly? I know I could just google it but I feel there's some glass connoisseurs on here who could give me a more accurate answer with the pros/cons =p

  3. I checked out the Apix website and they do seem like quality glass. I know what that stemline is now, but do they really make the smoke anywhere as smooth as a perc with multiple arms in the tube? I've used straight tubes and one with a perc before and I really like having a perc better so if I went with the bong you suggested would it have smooth hits? Or would it be just slightly better than a straight tube with nothing filtering it than the water?

  4. Apix's stemline's will beat any tree perc. You'll get super nice hits from it (if you go with a stem to disk it will be even smoother) I have not heard a bad thing about an apix piece yet. Many people who have them, are using them as their daily driver over piece that cost x2 or x3 as much

  5. Plus Dan is an awesome guy, who is very helpful when asking him about stuff and just a great guy to talk to. If you ever had any troubles with one of his piece's, I have no doubt he'd help you anyway he could.

  6. Alright, thanks a lot Swaggrrr, I'll probably end up getting that $150 piece of glass. Just wondering though, has he been making these only recently? I've heard a lot of good things about Apix on this forum but I always assumed they would cost a lot more so I never really checked them out until now.

Are they this affordable because he's just starting up? Do you think they'll likely go up in price soon? I'm not going to be buying this piece or probably another 8 weeks, when I move and I can actually have a bong without having to hide it constantly.

When I say soon I don't mean in the amount of time until I buy mine, but like a year or two down the road if I want to invest in an even more expensive one by Apix do you think they'll have gone up a lot because he's just making them so affordable right now to get word of mouth out and such?

  7. To be honest with you one of the best bongs I have owned happened to a old handle that I took to a place called cosmic charlies. They drilled it and made it into a bong for around $40. And it's a great part of my collection. Just a different point of view if you want to try. Here is the website.

  8. Honestly man, I believe he will keep making the same pieces but also start trying new designs. As for the price I can't guarantee that it won't go up, but I think he'll keep them around the same price because he has become very popular for making great quality/priced pieces. He does make custom pieces for people as well, those can get pricey but so do any customs.

  9. There's some people in Facebook groups selling sgw v2 waffles for $200. Id do that, they're an amaaaaazing tube
