baiscly as im sure many of the other people out there feel, im not really ready to go for $500 worth of lighting and ferts, but i still have shitloads of seeds, and basicly i just wanted advice on growing on the smallest possible budget. my main question is really just whether or not i can use everyday normal floro or regular bulbs that you'd just find in regular lamps, and if so how many would it take to get the plant the right amount of light? but also any other people who have experience with indoor growing and not spending much money on it, any tips or tricks to save cash would be great. thanks
Alright, here is what you need to grow inexpensively. 1. A nice patch of open land in an extremely safe and secluded place. ($0) 2. Bagseed from smoked weed. ($0, since you were buying the weed not the seed) 3. Few bags of organic soil. Or not if you prefer ground soil. ($0-$30) 4. Organic fertilizer. Again, or not if the soil is ok where you live. ($0-$30 for both grow and bloom) 5. A green thumb. ($0, but invaluable) 6. The late-summer sun. ($0) TOTAL- $0-$60 Good luck. Also, try the search function in the forum.
I spent about $60 on my grow. 10 bucks for soil around 50 for lights and other electrical stuff. (6 bulbs, 3 light fixtures, timer...) I already had a lot of things like pots, fans, nutes. If you put $100 into your grow, you can have nice decent lights. You can buy 2 100watt cool white CFLs and then a couple 26 watt cfls ($8 for 3 (23watt) CFL bulbs.), bag or 2 of organic soil, nutes, some bulb fixtures. But during your grow you will probably spen a couple bucks here and there on some things that you might have forgotten to get.
Hard to say without knowing how much area you're trying to light. You can pick up a T5 fluorescent canopy for under $150.00. Also, if you purchase "good" soil like Fox Farms or Black Gold you could skip the nutes. You won't harvest as much as if you had with a HPS and nutes but you'd also keep it under $200.00.
